Cravings: Still sugar. Mostly cookies after dinner
Aversions: Nothing right now
Current beverage of choice: Water but still nowhere near enough
Any good recipes to share: I'm actually looking for some... I just got the results of my blood work back today and I'm pre-anemic. I had to take a prescription iron supplement with my first as well and I'm not looking forward to the constipation. Although this new prescription is supposed to be easier on your stomach so we'll see. If you have any good iron rich recipes to share, I would appreciate it a lot
Cravings: ice cream. still. haha. Also bagels and cream cheese.
Aversions: rice! Which is a staple in our household, like almost every night and I just cook for everyone else and can't do it.
Current beverage of choice: mostly water. Sometimes I'm surprised how good a cold glass of water feels.
Any good recipes to share: I had a ridiculous amount of fresh basil from my garden so I made basil hummus, at first I wasn't sure but after it sat in the fridge a bit it was really tasty. https://theviewfromgreatisland.com/fresh-basil-hummus/
Cravings: apples. I’m currently eating at least two a day. I can’t wait for apple season to kick in!
Aversions: avocado - that’s the only really specific one. In general, I’m less drawn to sweet foods, which is nuts - I usually have a raging sweet tooth.
Current beverage of choice: water, mostly. Props to whoever here specifically mentioned ice water - I don’t usually put ice in my water but now I do and it’s PERFECT.
Any good recipes to share: not really - we order meal boxes so I don’t have to think too hard about making food lol
Cravings: @strongishmom APPLES all day long, bring them on! The colder the better! It’s like I have an apple obsession - I just ate one! Yum 🍏🍎
Aversions: gosh this week it feels like everything again! I hate hot food and nothing sounds good unless it’s ice cold or an apple. Boo hoo.
Current beverage of choice: ICE water - freezing cold water. I fill my 40oz Stanley with 1/3 ice and cold water and drink two of those a day. Love the freezing temperature!
Any good recipes to share: I just made overnight oats which include rolled oats, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, vanilla almond milk (unsweetened), APPLES chopped up, maple syrup, plain Greek yogurt and chia seeds! Yum 💕
@kamays54 my sister took a spoonful of a certain type of molasses was it every day or every few days before she got her blood work done because she was always low in iron and her midwife said she’d never seen a pregnant women with such good iron levels. I can ask her what type it was.
@babywiik I read something about molasses. If you could find out, that would be great. I have been trying to incorporate more iron rich foods into my diet. There were so many on the list that I like but just don't eat very often and I'm not really sure why.
@kamays54 sorry for the super late reply. My sister said she used Blackstrap molasses and look for one that says its 12 or 20% daily value of iron. Then she took a spoonful every day.
@babywiik thanks! I'm going to the store in a little bit and will see if they have it. The first iron supplement was awful. On the 5th day of taking it, I felt like such crap. It felt like there was a rock in my stomach and I even threw up twice. I got switched to another supplement and it was all lot better but I didn't realize it was a higher dose so I was taking too much 🤦♀️ stupid baby brain. I gave my body a break and will start the supplement again tomorrow.
