Hey ladies, I just got results I was “ borderline” with first glucose test at 130. So I have to do long version. The short 2 hour fasting and then hour at the waiting room post drink till blood test was insanely hard. I got twins in belly and trying really hard to get them to 5lbs that I eat something almost every hour. The first test my tummy was growling so loudly in waiting room and now have 8 hour fast and then 3 hours test. I am not worried I have it, more anxious about not eating for that long without passing out.

Good luck with your second draw ❤️
Usually they plan the start of the long test early in the morning, since you have to be fasting for at least 8h. So that should help a little since most of the fasting will have been done while asleep. It's definitely not a fun screening.
Have you asked your provider for an alternative to this screening? I don't know if it is something that can replace the long test, but I know some providers accepts that you take your glucose 5-6x/day for about two weeks instead of the short screening if someone has a hard time doing the test (vomiting during the wait period for example).
Best wishes to you!
Thanks for your kind wishes, but I will accompany you in doing the long test, and for a second time at that, this pregnancy. I did an early test at 16 weeks with not so good results, so I did the long test then too. I have to go through it in a few weeks also.
I hope it goes well for you and that you feel okay during the long wait.
I have my first test tomorrow and I'm dreading it. I've still been throwing up regularly in the mornings and bed time so I'm really hoping I can keep this drink down and complete the test.
I don't think you have to fast (if it's the screening), so maybe get some crackers or toast down before the test to cushion your stomach, and they may give you some Gravol or something if you let them know you're nauseous already...
I was able to keep that nasty drink down for the test itself, but three hours later spewed it all out.
The only value that was problematic was my fasting glucose which is a bit harder to control than after meal glucose levels. We were able to get it down a bit with a sweet snack just before bed (usually a warm milk with a spoon of chocolate powder, or yogurt with fresh fruits), but it was still on the line. In the end, I still had to take slow-acting insulin at night to help control my fasting glucose.
I hope you get it under control with a diet! Best of luck!!
