Infertility

New to infertility forum (loss mentioned)

Hi, forgive me as I learn all the acronyms. I have been diagnosed with PCOS, after 4-5 tries of clomid, then letrozole through my gyno, sent to fertility specialist last September. Lots of testing, found chronic endometritis, took antibiotics and cleared to start treatments. I require high level of letrozole, and use of Ovidrel trigger. We have now done 3 TIs, with one chemical pregnancy, which we did not even know was something that could happen. One IUI, then took a break for an ankle surgery, and just came back for our second IUI. Had two great follicles, high mobile sperm count, and just found out no pregnancy. My doctor is really pushing IVF, but we have said from the beginning we cannot afford that right now, and we are not sure if we are going to be able to do this fertility treatment. After this last call with the nurse, the doctor is pushing IVF, but we have only done two IUIs at this time, and I am feeling really hopeless and discouraged, and not supported by my fertility doctors. We live far away from a lot of clincis, this one is an hour from us. Has anyone else felt this way? Or has similar experiences with their fertility doctors? I know it can be a long haul, but I feel really hopeless when I do not feel like the doctor even thinks we have a chance trying with other methods.

  • I know the pain and frustration you're feeling right now. I was also diagnosed with PCOS before after TTC (trying to conceive) for almost 4 years. Been with 2 IUI rounds but still, I didn't got pregnant. Our doctor told us that the only option we have was IVF treatment. So we did a lot of exhausting research and we ended up in Dunya clinic in North Cyprus. Luckily, if I may call it, I got pregnant with one cycle only. I now have a 4-year-old son. But the journey of getting pregnant? Oh, I almost cried every day and night. Be strong. Don't lose your hope.
