When to start making a registry?

Hi y'all.  I am officially in my second trimester today and now that I am a bit more secure (less chance of miscarriage and scans came back good) I am starting to get excited.  This is my first successful pregnancy and was wondering when I should start making a baby registry. 

Any must haves would be appreciated too because I am a newbie at this!

    I'm working to get mine done by the time invitations for my baby shower will go out. I'm also a newbie, and have appreciated some various templates or checklists you can find online as a starting point, as well as asking some mom friends for input.

    I’ve bookmarked a few things here and there, but I’ll probably make one in earnest in the next couple of weeks. Our baby shower is in late October so we have time!

    I have just started mine (17weeks).  Even as a STM I find it to be overwhelming.  I mentioned it somewhere else but there is a really good website called Baby Bargains where the have unbiased reviews.  This definitely helped to narrow things down for me.  I would start with the basics and figure out what type of each you want. 

    For example, I knew I didn't want a car seat that you carry around and my husband really liked the ones that turned so we narrowed it down to the one we got.  But because I didn't want to carry her around in a car seat, we had to find a stroller that had the option of a bassinet.  We also had to find other things to set her down in if we were visiting family and friends like a travel bassinet or a baby lounger pillow.

    I’m 17 weeks and mine is basically done  :) I think we are having a small shower and I knew I would be buying stuff myself and not registering for everything so I started it around Prime Day mainly because I was taking advantage of some good deals and getting organized.  But also, because I’m an overly excited FTM.

    I went on the bump and they have a personalized registry checklist quiz which will help them generate a list of what you should put on your registry based on your answers.

    I find this to be the exciting part too but geez, these prices today are out of control. I feel guilty putting stuff on the registry.

    I will definitely take a look at that site.  And there are so many options available it can definitely be overwhelming.
