Upcoming Appointments: I had an appointment today. Baby is doing well. But my heart rate is high, and some of my thyroid levels are off, so I may have Graves disease. My ob put in for more bloodworm, and a referral to a cardiologist. It is a lot to process right now.
How are you feeling?: Scared. Worried. So many big feelings. I can't lose thus little guy.
Rants/Raves:
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity? Swimming! I find swimming laps to be relaxing.
EDD / Weeks + Days: EDD 02/08/25, currently 12 weeks and 5 days!
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Baby is the size of a (an): plum
Team blue/pink/green: Finding out via NIPT very soon!
Upcoming Appointments: Just got NIPT bloodwork on 07/30, next appt is on 08/27
How are you feeling?: I’m not feeling quite as consistently nauseous! I still have occasional bouts of not feeling well, but they seem to be getting less frequent 🤞 I’m also starting to get very hungry!!
Rants/Raves: I’m just feeling nervous about the NIPT! Of course I want nothing more than my baby to be healthy ❤️ And I’m also nervous about the possibly of experiencing gender disappointment
Questions: Is anyone else not showing yet at 12 weeks? I feel like my boobs are a bit bigger and that I have put on a few, but I don’t have a bump yet. Anyone else with me?
Team blue/pink/green: Pink! Just got our NIPT results back 2 days ago. My husband read the results first and surprised us by putting pink confetti in balloons. The kids each popped their balloon at the same time. Everyone was very excited and I had a feeling all along.
Upcoming Appointments: test results came back low risk for any abnormalities, so we are very thankful for that. I have a phone appt with a nurse tomorrow. Not exactly sure what it's all about as that wasn't a thing the last time I gave birth (almost 10 years ago!)
How are you feeling?: Still nauseous in the evenings...really over that. Feeling like I'm sticking out already and have retired any button pants/shorts for now.
Rants/Raves: We chose a name, so that's exciting.
Questions: none.
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity? Usually it's the beach because we live in an area surrounded by beautiful beaches. But this summer I want nothing to do with the heat.
Upcoming Appointments: NT ultrasound in a couple weeks. Also have a high risk Dr appt that will be tele, which is nice not to have to miss work to go to it. Will do my blood work on Monday for NIPT
How are you feeling?: mostly ok. Nausea starts around 4 pm most days and kind of just gets worse over the course of the night. Late night gets brutal. Crossing everything this phase ends soon.
Rants/Raves: well I've been on the East Coast, sort of dealing with my in laws, so I'm just really ready to go home tomorrow. We didn't get as much accomplished as we had planned, but I did get some good pool and beach time. Traveling and sleeping on couches and different places every couple nights has been a little rough with my insomnia.
Questions: no questions just nervous about the NIPT results.
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity? Definitely swimming in any type of water and eating ice cream. I also associate summer with getting to see friends and family, and while I didn't get to see as many people as I wanted this trip, I still feel like my cup was filled by the people I did get to see and the fun things I got to do. Assuming everything works out, it feels like next summer will be a lot more challenging with a new baby, so just trying to be thankful for what I did get to do.

@sistergoldenhair826 definitely starting to show over here. I swear I already look 6 months pregnant. But this is my second so you show quicker. FTMs typically don’t start showing until closer to 20ish weeks, enjoy it while it lasts!!
Upcoming Appointments: since I switched hospitals this time, I have an intake apt with a nurse next week, then 14 week ultrasound scheduled with my new OB.
How are you feeling?: Much better this week. Nausea has lessened so that has made life a little more manageable.
Rants/Raves: I am feeling selfishly dissapointed because our local hospitals labor and delivery unit closed right after my last delivery, so we are forced to drive 30 miles to the next nearest hospitals. And I have to find a new OB. Considering this is my third (and probably final) pregnancy, I’m just annoyed by this forced move. What are the silver linings to this that I’m not thinking about? I can only think of the inconveniences right now.
Questions: does anyone get pain when they cough or make sudden movements? Feels like round ligament pain, very low abdomen area, but I haven’t experienced this before as a result of coughing or moving. Anyone else?
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity? We have a cabin on a lake that we tend to go to whenever we have a free weekend. We are headed there today for a long weekend!
Upcoming Appointments: had my NT US today and the results were normal. The doctor said they are trying to stop doing these because the rate of false positives is so high (sharing in case anyone gets nervous seeing abnormal). Waiting on NIPT results.
How are you feeling?: Tired with on and off headaches
Rants/Raves: finally told my parents today and am feeling relief/nice to see their excitement, but skeptical about whether they'll drive me crazy with worry/check-ins. It's been nice keeping it a secret.
Questions: tips for headaches and reccos for pregnancy pillows for stomach/back sleepers.
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity? Morning gardening to beat the heat
Upcoming Appointments: 8/9 for Centering Pregnancy. We got our NIPT results but no commentary from the OB yet. They didn't spoil the surprise for fetal sex, really grateful we get to stay team green.
How are you feeling?: I had a brief break from the nausea, but it's returned the last couple days. Really struggling to eat through it, finding myself reaching for snacks and simple foods rather than meals. I'm also almost out of pants that fit and finally had to tell my boss lol. I've had such a positive reception to the news, it's really heartening.
Rants/Raves: I didn't realize that one of the many side effects of the increased hormones is a tendency to bruise easily. Good lord! I accidentally bumped into the corner of a friend's baby gate. It didn't even hurt and I have a huge gnarly bruise from it. So dramatic. My rant is that the bruise is specifically on the side I've been taking weekly belly pictures, so this week's features a stupid bruise.
Questions: I'm running out of polite ways to decline baby items from folks. I have a small apartment and can't accept half of what I'm being offered, but I'm also on a tight budget and so deeply appreciate the support and gesture. I've just gotten to the point of being direct and saying I may not have the space but would love to take time to consider the offer. Any other recommendations?
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity? Well, it used to be swimming and going to the beach. It's currently napping in the AC with my cat 😂
@farmwifemimi I was gifted two different types of pregnancy pillow, and found that the c-shape was actually far more useful than the u-shape. I preferentially have slept on my stomach up until the last week or so, and the c-shape pillow lets me side sleep while still getting the same feeling as when I stomach sleep. It's also more supportive for when I'm on my back, and it's taking up less room overall. The leachco snoogle is the same shape - so a skinnier c.

Baby is the size of a (an): plum
Team blue/pink/green: TBD
Upcoming Appointments: First MFM appt next week.
How are you feeling?: Tired, still nauseous, worried/anxious off and on.
Rants/Raves: Never thought I’d say this, but I’m ready for fall! The heat/humidity this summer… over it.
Questions: Would love to hear any car seat and/or stroller recommendations. I feel very “out of the game” since it’s been 10 years. Thanks in advance!
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity? This summer… Netflix on my couch in the AC!
My best advice is to not go crazy with the stroller. We had the system stroller and felt so fancy. And within like a year we were mostly using the umbrella stroller bc it was so annoying to have to take off the seat of the bugaboo to put it in the car. One handed fold and one handed pushing were my two best friends. I mean, clearly depends on your life-at that time we also had stairs on our apartment, so lugging that thing up and down the stairs was such a pain. Obviously if you walk places and don't deal with the car that much and don't have stairs, it's less of a thing. For car seat we've had the Nuna pipa which I loved bc it was so light (but not cheap! It was a gift), and then now we have both a nuna Rava and a clek. I like both of them. One thing to think about is whether you'll need to have an infant seat that can go without the base, like for travel. Happy to answer any questions if others have them. I felt like there was a big learning curve for me on car seats (what we needed, pros and cons).
