Hcg blood test

Hi all! I’m about 4w2d according to the apps. I don’t see my OB until 8 weeks on Aug 7. I did receive orders for 2 hcg blood tests from my pcp just to make sure my levels are increasing. My question is, when should I test? Should I wait until further along at week 5 or 6? 
We are also traveling week 7 with my family and plan to tell them the big news but I want to make sure my levels are increasing before I say anything. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

    No point in waiting. If the level is rising it will show the increase no matter when you test. It would be nice to be able to tell your family when they’re all there so I would test sooner rather than later.

    Hi I’m 4 weeks and 2 days as of yesterday as well! My Dr. had me take my first hcg test yesterday to confirm pregnancy and I’m taking my second one tomorrow because it’s supposed to double.

    There is no need to wait to tell everything to your family. Better for them to know while they are still there. It would be a big announcement, right?

    I took my blood test at technically 3 weeks 6 days pregnant, got my results back to confirm pregnancy, and my level was 473. Was interested to hear other levels as well, because I am not sure if this is good, bad, normal. My dr didnt seem interested in doing a repeat test, but I really want to make sure my numbers are rising. Especially since I am 38, I just want to make sure everything is working and progressing as it should.

    I’m surprised your doctor won’t repeat, my doctor repeated mine to make sure they were rising but that could be because of my miscarriage history

    My New ob doctor did an hcg test on me today. I am technically 5 wks 1 day since LMP, numbers came back at 12,030 🩷 going in on Saturday to check progress!
