Cravings: None really, although I've been more into fruit than normally.
Aversions: Have been super avoiding eggs and beef.
Current beverage of choice: The sparkling strawberry juice cans from Trader Joe's
Any good recipes to share: To get protein in at breakfast without eating eggs I've been mixing half a scoop of vanilla protein powder into oatmeal. Pretty good and easy!
It is fun and now that I can think and talk about food, happy to participate!
Cravings: Anything salty, pizza, all things ice cold
Aversions: Hot beverages of all types
Current beverage of choice: Chocolate milk
Any good recipes to share: I just made a delicious grain bowl with quinoa, pomegranate seeds, sweet potato, tomatoes, cilantro, grilled halloumi cheese with a maple Dijon vinaigrette. Outstanding!
@fk18 No way! Yes soo good! The watermelon one is good too haha, super good as a sweet treat, or I've brought them to social events where there will likely be drinking so I have something fun to sip on too.
Cravings: Sweets. With my last one too. I'm normally not a big sweets person but almost every night after dinner I have to have something sweet. Cookies mostly but sometime ice cream.
Aversions: Totally random but fried banana. I was craving sushi from this place my husband and I love. They have over 70 rolls and a bunch of them don't contain raw fish. I got one that I have always loved and it has fried banana on the outside. I ate one piece and it just didn't taste the same. It wasn't bad, just different and I ended up picking the banana off of the rest. The same thing happened to me with my first but with peanut butter. It just tasted off but again not bad. I couldn't eat peanut butter the entire pregnancy.
Current beverage of choice: I pretty much only drink water but I don't drink anywhere near enough. I will add liquid IV to it sometimes just to get a little more hydration.
Any good recipes to share: I have been eating so basic so I really don't have anything at the moment.
Ooo… love seeing what y’all are digging and adding things to my next grocery list.
Cravings: I’ve been stuck on Shawarma. The spicy meat, the pickled vegetables, the garlic… so good! I also have been craving steak, so I picked up some thick cut steaks to grill this weekend.
Aversions: ranch dressing. In the last week, the smell and taste have been an instant nausea inducer
Current beverage of choice: super cold ice water with SF flavor packets. I also like to treat myself to Biggby’s when I’m in the area for their Frozen Electric Dragon Refresher.
Cravings: fruit popsicles, anything dairy, cold water and cold mineral water (all of which I never ate or drank pre-pregnancy!) I only drank warm or room temp water pre-pregnancy. Stayed away from any cold beverages, so it’s weird that that’s the only beverage temp I want now.
Aversions: 1st trimester I was nearly averse to everything. my husband would name almost everything I used to like and new foods and I would reply "disgusting" each time lol. 2nd trimester has been better and tolerable, although I gag every time I eat (ugh!). My main food aversions are salmon and cooked vegetables which sucks because I know the many nutritional benefits both provide! I try to make myself eat cooked green vegetables for as much as I can take it to get some nutrition in.
Current beverage of choice: Pellegrino sparkling mineral water. I have one per day, is that bad?
Any good recipes to share: Unfortunately, no. I've been keeping it really simple because of my aversions.
Cravings: ice cream, which I rarely eat and also it's "cold season" here so super unusual. And bagels with cream cheese
Aversions: beef. For most of my pregnancy it was seafood but I finally seem to be over it.
Current beverage of choice: soda water with a splash of juice (cucumber, mint, lemon)- it's my mocktail of choice and crystal light lemonade
Any good recipes to share: I can't find the recipe right now, but last week I did sheet pan chicken and mixed veg (red and yellow pepper, onions, leeks, and broccoli and it was really good for lunches.
Cravings: SALT. Literally anything salty, vinegar-y, spicy. I probably have a sodium deficiency or something lmao. I also want a margarita so freaking bad.
Aversions: Eggs. I want them but at the same time I don't. Now that I'm entering my 2nd trimester nothing has made me especially puke-y lately, so I'm thankful for that!
Current beverage of choice: I got a new water bottle to help me increase my water intake so that's helped a lot! I also have been wanting juice, which sucks because I'm pre-diabetic and can't drink it a lot bc it spikes my blood sugar so bad and makes me feel like crap. So I've been trying to curb those cravings by drinking zero sugar gatorade!
Any good recipes to share: I made a really good enchilada bake the other night that was super simple. Basically just ground beef, enchilada sauce, onions, whatever else you wanna throw in there, and then top it with some crescent rolls slathered in sour cream and some shredded cheese. It was YUM!
Cravings: Anything I’m told I can’t eat!! Cold Turkey sandwich, raw sashimi, over easy eggs (which I’m usually indifferent too!). As far as the stuff I can eat goes, I want all things salty (potato chips especially) and sweet (Costco has these chocolate s’more cluster things. Oh. My. Gosh. I could eat a whole bag)
Aversions: salad. Which I usually eat a lot of, but now, the thought of eating raw leafy greens makes me gag. Eggs also. Yes, I am craving half cooked eggs, but fully cooked eggs make me gag —weird!
Current beverage of choice: I found a Rooibos tea at our local tea shop that is really refreshing. Otherwise, plain or sparkling water
I made street tacos with this Carnita meat last week. No one has time to sear the meat in batches like she recommends so I pulled it, spread it on a big sheet pan, and broiled it for a few minutes, stirred it, added some juice from the pot, and broiled it again. Spread it on a tortilla with some cilantro, onion, and lime. Yum!
Re: What my pregnant self is eating- July
Cravings: None really, although I've been more into fruit than normally.
Cravings: cows milk (so random…I usually use almond milk), cheerios, pho
a tasty vegan meal packed with nutrients (no I’m not a vegan haha)
Cravings: Sweets. With my last one too. I'm normally not a big sweets person but almost every night after dinner I have to have something sweet. Cookies mostly but sometime ice cream.

this sausage tortellini soup is a favorite dinner around here!
