Is this normal?

I am a second time mom, after a gap of 8 yrs. With my first born, I had severe nausea till 14 weeks. But this one has been pretty smooth so far..very occassional nausea and actually nothing at all for the last one week. I am 10 weeks today. I am worried for lack of symptoms. I had sore boobs which is fading away as well. Had my last scan at 8 weeks. I feel tired and breathless at time.  Is it normal to not feel anything?

Re: Is this normal?

  • I have morning sickness with this one (my 2nd) but it is way different than my first.  Every pregnancy is different so it is completely normal to have different symptoms the 2nd time around.  I wouldn't worry too much.  I know that's easier said than done.

  • I’m a first time mom and am the same! Was dealing with icky nausea and occasional vomiting with the last real episode around week 10. Have been taking unisom/b6 before bed and the nausea has vanished aside from taking pills and brushing my teeth. I am feeling so much better it’s worried me but I’ve read as long as there’s no bleeding/pain/intense cramping not to worry and that it’s possible it’s just subsiding! For me I think it’s possible too that unisom just really works for me…
  • If everything looked good at your scans, id try not to worry. Every pregnancy can be so different. My first two i was super sick early and until close to 20 weeks. This time I didnt feel sick as soon and though im takimg unisom/b6 this time, ive never felt this good while pregnant. My first two were girls and from the last scan, we’re pretty sure this one is a boy. We get sick because of our hormones and how they react to pregnancy. With time, hormones can change so its not super surprising that you’re having a different experience 8yrs later.
  • I’ve also been feeling no symptoms at all, but had my appointment on Monday and doc assured everything looks great! Heard the heartbeat and it sounds like we have just gotten lucky!
  • You sound just like me! I'm a first time mom too... nausea and vomiting has been terrible, but the unisom+b6 has helped a lot. EXCEPT after taking my prenatal (I think it's the iron that makes me so nauseous), and when I brush my tongue I get super nauseous. That was never an issue for me before pregnancy.
On days where I don't throw up, I worry that something is wrong with the pregnancy and I miss having that symptom. We just had our 12 week ultrasound last week and baby is healthy and on track for his due date, so now I'm trying to just be grateful on days where I don't get sick instead of worrying that something is wrong
