GTKY: What is the best summer vacation you took as a kid?

What number are you trying for? 3 (first two are adopted)

Month/Cycle? Stopped counting

WTO/TWW? TWW

Ages of other child(ren)? 5 and 6

Any thoughts about this cycle? Still benched, but not for too much longer!

Rant/Rave? I’m only one book away from reaching my Goodreads goal for the year. This was definitely done at the expense of housework though lol

GTKY: What is the best summer vacation you took as a kid?
One summer my sister and I went out to visit our grandparents in California. I remember my favorite parts were the San Diego zoo and the cable cars in San Francisco. I would have loved to tour Alcatraz too but they didn’t have tours going while we were there.

What number are you trying for? 2

Month/Cycle? 3 after break

WTO/TWW? TWW

Ages of other child(ren)? 1.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? They were able to quickly squeeze in my surgery so I had it this week! I'm recovering now and hoping to get back to trying again soon. I think I'll probably have to sit out one more cycle after this for healing but that's not too bad.

Rant/Rave? Rant: My spouse keeps complaining how tired he is taking care of 1.5 by himself but isn't making the connection that it's because normally I take care of a lot and make everything easier. He still keeps trying to tell me that I do nothing and he does everything around the house. The cognitive dissonance is incredible. 🤦
Rave: My little guy has been so empathetic while I've been hurt. He points at me and says ouchie and is so patient with me not being able to play with him like normal.

GTKY: What is the best summer vacation you took as a kid?
Road trip to see some national parks. So fun, and lots of great roadside oddities and animal sightings.

What number are you trying for? 3

Month/Cycle? 2, but we are sitting this one out. Literally all of DHs siblings and him have March/very early April bdays and we don’t want to add to that. Although DD2 has a mid April bday, we probably will try next month as it would be late end of April.

WTO/TWW? WTO CD 9.

Ages of other child(ren)? 5 and almost 10

Any thoughts about this cycle? A little sad to be out but happy for more data to make pinpointing the best days easier. It was definitely a joint decision to skip and honestly feels right.

Any questions? Why are the boards so dead? I was here for both my previous pregnancies (not so much on TTGP, but I remember it being busy) and now it’s a ghost town.

Rant/Rave? I was sorta hoping to be able to give DH a BFP for Father’s Day (would never be able to top that present but that’s a running joke in my family) but now I’ve moved on to hoping for a June due date(super wishful thinking since I’m 35+
and we just started) but I’ll take my motivation where I can I guess.

GTKY: What is the best summer vacation you took as a kid? My grandparents took me and my sister to SoCal/Disney/Vegas/Grand Canyon with lots of stops for minor interesting places/family. Really amazing and one few times my sister and I really got along.

Not to be mean but…dude wtf? Does he not realize that you are going to need extra help with a new baby? I would nut punch my DH if he acted like this.

Ooh what’s your goal?
I read 161 last year (my kindle goal was 150) and i’m trying to figure out if I should try to reach 200 this year or keep it at 150. I’m currently at 87 so far this year.

I know, it's awful but he's great in a lot of other ways. I try to laugh it off when he says dumb stuff like that.

I don't know why the forums are so dead. Is it bc younger people are just on TikTok or something? I think a lot of forums and blogs are going the way of the dodo.

@thatbaintforbetty Oh wow my goal is not nearly that high lol. It’s 35 and I’ve read 34
so far (although I think I forgot to count a few and I don’t count all the books I read to the kids). How do you have time to read that many books when you have kids?

@britters314 I read mostly via iBooks or kindle app so it’s easy to read a couple pages at a time whenever I get the chance. I also read fairly fast and have insomnia.

But also part of it is because of my job, I actually recently took on an extra role which will cut into my time but I used to have a part of the week where I was more needing to present in case something came in instead of being actively working. Like I have to be available if something came up but if things were slow I had to be “on” but until then I was waiting.
