Nerves & Anxiety

Hi February Mamas!

So excited to be part of the community and connect with you all. I found out I was pregnant yesterday with my very first pregnancy! Baby was not planned, but completely is welcomed. I am filled with excitement, happiness, but also also it seems that my anxiety has come out as well. My anxiety comes up with new transitions in life. I plan on taking magnesium to assist with my nerves. Hoping to go back to therapy as well.
Just wanting my mental health to be well for a good pregnancy!

Does anyone have words of wisdom or any similar experiences?

Thank you in advance! 😊

    Welcome and congrats!

As a 5th time bump veteran, my first tip is to change your username so we don't confuse you with another knottienumberletternumber. There's a post with instructions that are simple to follow.

I also struggle with anxiety and will resume Zoloft around January to manage my ppa/ppd. Magnesium is so smart, so glad you reminded me! Gonna start that asap. What kind do you take? I've used Calm in the past, but I have to be so careful not to take too much or it messes up my digestion, which is currently a wreck already.

  • No words of wisdom but I’m right there with you with the anxiety. I can’t stop worrying about everything and anything. It’s so overwhelming!
  • Same. Every twinge I feel internally has me scared I might be losing baby. I don’t know how I’m going to make it the full pregnancy.
  • That's me, I am terrified of every bit of spotting or every pull of the uterus is going to lose the baby. This anxiety is not it. I have generalized anxiety and am high functioning not medicated for it otherwise but it's in high gear now, hopefully it subsides once the chance for miscarriage goes down.
  • My anxiety has also been really bad the past week. I am not anxious about any one thing in particular, but it is definitely my body's response to changes in hormones. The very first time it happened to me was in my second pregnancy (this is my 3rd) and it scared the crap out of me. For me, it only happens at night and it leads to insomnia. I am currently taking unisom + B6 and while I had taking any meds while pregnant, it seems to be helping.
