So I know this might possibly be a dumb question but I know that pregnant woman are not suppose to get X rays while pregnant, I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant and went to a county fair and they had metal detectors at the entrance of the park. I walked through it not thinking much but of it and then wondered if I shouldn't have done that. I read online that airport metal detectors are safe but curious if that applies to all metal detectors at parks, malls, etc.

Metal detectors use a magnetic field that does not give off the ionizing radiation that X-rays do.

Metal detector should be fine. The technology used is a lot different than x-ray. X-ray is a specific type of radiation that should be limited to a minimum at all time. Just think how ultrasound are fine too because the technology used is also very different from x-ray.
