The injections are not as bad as I feared! The first one was nerve wracking, but it was easy after that. Some of them you barely feel! I did all my own subcutaneous injections, but it was an huge help to have my husband do the intramuscular ones. My side effects weren't bad; only 1 of the injections hurt, and I wasn't on that one long. The day before egg retrieval I was pretty uncomfortable with swollen ovaries (they retrieved 19 eggs!) and nausea, but it was just that last day. I didn't have any mood effects.

What meds are you on? Is your estrogen oral or vaginal?

  • Hi, I did not experience any issues with needles or meds, I think this is very individual, and you might be pretty well with them. Also, if you explain yourself your treatment is the only way to get pregnant, you will manage the situation and will focus on the final result. Hope this helps.
  • Hey everyone,

I just started my ivf journey. The shots are not that bad. I'm on menopur and it burns a l little. The hormones make me feel a little fatigue as well. I just did my trigger shot yesterday. My follicle numbers are not that great. My biggest number was a 15 but the doctor wants to still do the egg retrieval Friday. I'm so nervous.

@radiancety You still have time for your follicles to develop. Wishing you a successful egg retrieval and a speedy recovery! ❤️✨❤️
  • @ttc3y You were right. Thank you for the positive vibes.
  • Good evening,

Starting IVF can be nerve-wracking, but having your partner's support is invaluable. It's normal to feel anxious about the injections and medications. Remember to take it one step at a time. Focus on the positive outcome and lean on your partner for support. You've got this, and you're not alone on this journey!
