1st Trimester

Pregnant with Twins both measuring 2 weeks behind

Hi everyone, just looking for some advice or any similar experiences. I went in for my 7 week 6 day ultrasound “dating ultrasound” and instead of being on track for measurements, there were two gestational sacs. Baby A was measuring 5 weeks 5 days with a yolk sac, Baby B was measuring 5 weeks 3 days with no yolk sac visible. I talked with my doctor and she said I could have ovulated later. I’m just not sure what to expect. My doctor said she doesn’t see anything that alarms her to think something is wrong and typically at these measurements is what we would see.

We are over the moon excited we already have 3 girls at home ages 9,5, and 3. I get another ultrasound on June 24th Monday night, I had my HCG levels checked yesterday and they are 13,492 and judging by 5 weeks twins I’m guessing that’s normal, I just don’t know, I get my levels checked again tomorrow morning (48 hours apart) fingers crossed they are doubling.

Has anyone had a similar experience and everything ended up progressing well? Just looking for some insight and any similar experiences. I feel like I’m driving hubby crazy but he’s been so positive and he’s so excited.

  • There's nothing you can do but wait until your next HCG level comes in to see if it's doubling.  If you weren't temp tracking your cycles to know exactly when you O'd, then your dates could easily be off.  Watching the HCG double and then seeing heartbeat around 7 weeks is the only way to see if PG is progressing as it should.

I won't leave you my story, as it's not the rainbows and butterflies you're specifically requesting.
