Cravings: Like in my previous pregnancies I'm definitely enjoying lots of dairy. Cheese, yogurt and cream cheese, particularly goat's cream cheese. My favourite breakfast is wholemeal toast with goat's cheese, topped with fruit and a twist of black pepper. My favourites are papaya, nectarines and strawberries.

Aversions: I'm really not into sweet things. Whith DS1 it was a strong aversion. Less so with this baby but there are a lot of sweet foods I will not eat. No bad thing really, if only it continued after pregnancy.

Current beverage of choice: I got a bottle of none alcoholic campari style spirt for my birthday this month and I've been enjoying that with tonic and ice.

Recipies: We've been making Korean soy marinated 'drug eggs', they are so delicious and easy to make. I've also really been enjoying the recipes from 'food by maria'. She makes lots of healthy Greek food and everything looks amazing and everything I've tried is amazing. I made her pitas last week and they were so good!

Cravings: fruit and berries some days, salt and vinegar chips other days. Spicy food. Basically anything with a strong flavor that hides the terrible metallic taste I always have in my mouth.
Aversions: coffee and any dish heavy on cream.
Current beverage of choice: I'm having a hard time drinking anything. Plain water makes me gag, sparkling water is a little better. Chamomile tea works sometimes.
Any good recipes to share: I'm big on saving a million recipes on insta to try later. "Later" never happens.

  • Cravings: Turkey and salami deli sandwiches. Pepperonicinis on everything like my sandwiches and salads. Anything salty really. Also medium spicy Thai food, especially green curry.

    Aversions: None

Current beverage of choice: Iced water with fresh lemon juice. I’ve been drinking it all day long for weeks!

Any good recipes to share: Made this for dinner: Turkey Lasagna: https://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/the-best-healthy-turkey-lasagna-youll-ever-eat/ (was inspired by watching the new Garfield movie with the kids today LOL) and this for dessert: Sour Cream Pound Cake https://www.callmepmc.com/sour-cream-pound-cake-recipe/ (still in the oven and I can’t wait to dig in later!)

Cravings: I had a strong urge yesterday for one of those gas station pizza subs that's full of preservatives. Didn't care, ate it and it was glorious. lol. Nothing major yet tho.
Aversions: These are pretty much gone and I'm back to regular eating
Current beverage of choice: I can finally drink regular water again! I have been adding hydralyte tho at least once a day - lemonade flavour. I have had the occassional zero beer with clam because it's getting warm and sunny out.
Any good recipes to share: slow cooker came out now that I'm eating normal and I love ranch chicken. You literally put a bunch of bone in chicken thighs in, a bunch of butter and dry ranch seasoning and turn it on (low=4; high =8) and the chicken comes right off the bone. It's so delicious and easy. Great in wraps the next day too.
  • Oh man! Beer and clam!!! 🥰 We went out for bruch the other weekend and I had a loaded virgin Caesar.... So good!
And I love that there are so many options for near beer, its nice that I can still have a shower beer after a long day of work in the sun.

That ranch chicken sounds dynamite too! Lol

UGH! Now I want a caesar! lol.
  • @mitchip @allieowl I had to look up beer and clam and now I'm even more confused 😅. Is it beer and clamato a bit like a michelada or is it beer with clam juice?

My favourite alcohol free beer is Erdinger if you can get it. It's isotonic too so really good in the heat, a lot of alcohol free beers are.
  • For us on the west coast, Canada, it's usually just your cheaper draft beer and an ounce or so of clamato (or tomato) juice. I feel like it's really nice for hangovers and hot days.

I love Erdinger (one of my favourite schnitzel houses carries it and I would get it in the tall fancy glass)! I'll have to keep an eye out for the alcohol free one.
Thanks so much for the tips!

It's strange, I work construction and am kind of a guys' girl (almost 40 and playing beer pong with the 20 year old crew at bbqs). I thought I would miss drinking and smoking, but it just doesn't exist now. Not in a bad way, I don't really crave it and feel the same without it--I'm a bit of a space cadet now, so it's kinda like I'm drunk lol. The only thing I notice is if I'm around a lot of people and they're drinking it feels really loud sometimes and I need a break. Thankfully we're off grid in a small town, so I'm mostly at work or home with hubby and pup...

I haven’t missed alcohol a lot either, but my husband got beer yesterday for the first time in weeks (we usually split a six pack over the weekend and he hasn’t wanted to get beer without me, ha) and maaaaaan. Now I want one too! I think I’ll have to check out alcohol free Erdinger as well, thanks for the tip!
