@lexilougolden toasted marshmallow, cheddar cheese, and Kettle (or Ripple) chips instead of the Graham cracker. The person I saw make it before also added hot sauce, but my mom can't handle spicy, so we didn't add that.
Tomorrow is teachers last day! I had a work baby shower/drop off today and was pleasantly surprised at all the diapers and gift cards, I really wasn’t expecting so much! It’s my first year in this school- but I’ve been with the district for 3 now.
Hopefully next week I find the motivation to get things ready for baby. We’ve done nothing but put a dresser together in the house! 😅
Day 2 of potty training is almost done. Whew, it's tough! He's actually kind of opposite of most kids and has #2 down but not #1. I'm one tired pregnant mama.
@theneno1012 me too! I will say all day in the boat gave me some serious BH for a little while but all is well. My 2y/o absolutely loved camping and floating the river, he did so good!
i didn’t know where to add this to but heres the 3 leches recipe for @lexilougolden & for whoever else would like to try it! sorry that its so lengthy, i wanted to be as thorough as possible 😂
tres leches cake!
batter ingredients
5 large room temperature eggs (seperated)
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup milk
syrup ingredients
1 can of evaporated milk
1 can of condensed milk
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream (or your choice of milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla
whipped cream ingredients
2-3 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar
sift flour, salt, and baking powder together into a small bowl & set aside.
in a separate bowl, using an electric mixer beat the egg yolks with 2/3 cup of the sugar until pale yellow (about 2 minutes) then add the milk & vanilla to the egg yolk mixture & keep mixing until smooth (for about 3-4 minutes)
in a separate bowl, using an electric mixer beat the egg whites with the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar until you reach soft shiny peaks (not stiff peaks)
slowly mix in the flour, salt, and baking powder using a large whisk to the egg yolk mixture until just combined
start folding in the egg whites to the batter using a rubber spatula, slowly to not deflate the egg whites & to get a fluffy, airy batter.
add batter to a 9x13 ungreased baking pan & bake at 350 F for 28-35 minutes, once baked and cooled, scrape the sides of the pan with a knife and poke lots of holes all over the cake using a fork so the cake can absorb all the syrup!
in a bowl, mix the evaporated milk, condensed milk, heavy whipping cream & vanilla. once mixed slowly pour over the cake and set it to rest in the fridge for a couple of hours so the cake can absorb all the yummy syrup.
lastly, mix the heavy whipping cream & sugar to make whipped cream. spread over the chilled cake & add strawberries or your choice of fruits to the top.
if y’all make it, i hope it turns out yummy & enjoy!
I got to spend several hours in L&D with contractions last night. I’m so sore and tired today. I had contractions about 3 minutes apart that lasted around a minute for almost TEN HOURS. No cervix change so they called it irritable uterus but they pushed two bags of fluids and finally two rounds of tern stopped them around 1 this morning. I was having contractions the monitor would pick up and I didn’t even feel after my second round of terb, so I was stressed to go in if I start having them again for more than an hour since they can/will turn into real labor and encourage my cervix to change after so long.
This pregnancy is just kicking my butt all around. Im so thankful it wasn’t active labor and I’m not dilating and etc, but the OB said since I’ve had what I thought was BH for so long this pregnancy already it’s probably been irritable uterus and I’ll experience prodromal labor until I hit active labor. Which I did with my first and it was EXHAUSTING. 😵💫
@sph97 oh my goodness, take it easy! i hope baby let’s you rest & relax today.
i went grocery shopping last night & i could swear i felt baby girl’s hands or feet on my cervix .. i know it sounds crazy but she did a super weird movement that paralyzed me mid aisle. my 5 yr old was with me & he kept asking “is regina flipping around in there?” and i could just nod to him yes, my husband stayed in the car with the baby since he was sleeping so as soon as we got to the car my son scared my husband and told him “mami was having a heart attack at the store!” and my husband kinda panicked 😂 i had to explain it was just really strong movements that didn’t allow me to move for like 5 mins.
thank you ladies! On the bright side the scare gave my husband motivation to finally get the baby things out of storage today 😅 looks like we’ll be packing a hospital bag soon too. So crazy we can have a baby almost any day now! They said if I was at least 35 weeks and hit active labor they won’t stop it since baby is so big, and that’s FOUR WEEKS AWAY!
@sph97 that’s CRAZY! Omg you must be exhausted and I’m sure it was scary! I’m so glad you and babe are ok but omg, how are some of us going to have babies so soon!?!?
Had another growth scan and she went from 13th to 11th percentile. Everything looks good otherwise 🤷♀️ We'll still do maternal fetal medicine ultrasounds to check on her since she's hovering right around the growth restricted percentile. (<10%). Trying not to stress about it and hope that everything turns out okay for her and I! *posted in incorrect week so I'll repost in this week's!
