Kid furniture

Looking for a dresser for DD (toddler). What’s the better quality RH or PBK? Open to Legacy Classic or another brand. Would rather buy something to last 10+ years than the Namesake (million dollar baby) Dresser that she currently has that is being passed down to the soon to be newborn.

Re: Kid furniture

  • Choosing the right dresser for your toddler is an important decision! Both Restoration Hardware (RH) and Pottery Barn Kids (PBK) offer quality furniture options, but it ultimately depends on your preferences and budget. I'd recommend visiting both stores if possible, checking the build quality, safety features, and design to see which one aligns better with your needs. Don't forget to read reviews and consider any specific requirements you have in terms of style and functionality.

We have PB Kids for our first but was looking at namesake for the 2nd. How did you like their quality?
  • We have a Namesake dresser too — it’s been okay, but honestly the drawers aren’t the smoothest and it’s already showing wear after just a couple years. It’s fine for a nursery, but if you’re hoping for something to last long-term, I’d lean toward PBK or even look into Legacy Classic. They feel sturdier and more timeless in design.
  • We went with PBK and it’s held up great so far - drawers are smooth, solid build. RH is beautiful but pricey for what you get, IMO.

When it comes to kids’ furniture, I always look for safe, durable, and versatile pieces that can grow with the child. Natural materials and thoughtful design make a huge difference in creating a cozy and functional space.
