For all the working moms out here, when are you planning to start your maternity leave?

    My plan is the day my water breaks 🤣. I also happen to be close friends with my employer. So I will hold out as long as possible 🙌🏾

    This to this time I’ll work as long as the doc let me. I went out 2 weeks prior to my due date with my first due to being concerned about flu. That wait was torture, this time I want my mind to stay busy.

    I took my last leave three weeks before my due date (I was in CA, where you get an additional four weeks off prior to your due date). I wound up having to be induced the Monday after my last day, so I’m realllly glad I took the time early!

    This time around, I’m in a different state, and I’m planning on starting my leave two weeks before my due date.

    I’m planning on working until my water breaks as well. I want to use all my maternity leave for after baby. If I need to take it early for medical reasons I will but I plan on going up till I’m in labor.

    I started a new job in January and found out I was pregnant the same week. They offer maternity leave only after 1 year of employment, but I do qualify for short term disability. I am planning on working until baby is here and hopefully the doctor will help me get some additional weeks. I feel so anxious and sad I can’t even take unpaid time off
