Gender Reveal- Ideas Anyone? 🎀🦋⁉️

So this is going to sound weird, but I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas for a virtual gender reveal. Basically, we’d love to be surprised along with our nearest and dearest via Zoom and include them in the reveal somehow (like, they aren’t just watching us do the reveal). Idk if it’s even possible but given it’s 2024, they have ways to do almost anything. TIA for your ideas!

Also, feel free to post your gender reveal plans or reveals you’ve done or seen before. We’re all getting closer and closer to finding out, either through prenatal testing or anatomy scans, so it’s fun to start thinking about it.

  • Gonna respond by sharing the gender reveal we did for my 3rd kiddo: cupcakes with colored filling. We just gave the sex written on a card in an envelope to the baker; so we were surprised, too! We all bit into them at the same time. Only prob was the color was super light and it almost looked white. I was legit confused for a minute. Everyone seemed to enjoy it though.

  • I was thinking of doing a gender reveal this time around. We had a baby shower for my daughter. We didn't know her gender until the birth. I feel like doing a second baby shower would be a bit weird as we had one last summer. So I thought a gender reveal with close family/friends would be a good idea to mix it up and still celebrate the arrival of the little one. I was thinking of a cake or cupcakes as they seem fun and environmentally more friendly than other options. (At the baby shower, my mother brought balloons with confetti inside and were a pain to get rid of as some burst in the backyard. I didn't find the clean up fun with my huge belly at the time.)
  • I'm not sure these exist or maybe if a friend's could make them for you, but you could mail cards that have confetti in them to everyone that say do not open. Then you could all open over zoom. Be sure to record it so you can go back and take screenshots of people's reactions later!

My in-laws are Australian and we are heading there when I'm about 15 weeks. My SIL suggested we do a gender reveal when we get there but not sure what to do yet.
  • new_mom_mn I love that idea. I know I will not have all of my friends and family close for it so maybe that’s how we will get them involved thanks for sharing. I haven’t really thought about how we’d do it for people in person. My sister has done a cake and a cupcake for her babies which I like the idea of.
