Doula or no doula?

I’m planning to have a medicated birth at the hospital. Is a doula useful in that case?

I have read that a doula can still advocate for you in the delivery room. In what situation would you need a doula to advocate for you against the medical team of doctors/nurses at the hospital?

Re: Doula or no doula?

  • I think a doula can always be helpful. Outcomes as a whole are better with a doula, despite the kind of birth you want. That’s especially true if it’s your first. There are so many possibilities and I think they prepare you well too
