IF Testing & Treatment w/o May 6

**This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

    What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting for a match

    How are things going?: Tomorrow makes it two weeks since we started the matching phase. That’s how long placing families get to decide yes or no when they are shown a profile. Since we haven’t heard anything, either they didn’t show our profile right away or the first family said no. Either way it’s disappointing even though we weren’t actually expecting a match this quickly. I might reach out at the end of the week to ask the agency for an update and see if they have shown our profile yet.

    GTKY: How/where have you made new friends as an adult?
    *TW other kids mentioned* Sorry I can’t really answer this without mentioning that I’m a parent because the places I’ve made new friends are at my kids’ activities and in our homeschool group.

    What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET

    How are things going?: We’re almost there!! Triggered last Friday evening, and transfer is scheduled for midday this Friday. I’m going in for bloodwork to check my progesterone levels tomorrow, but don’t anticipate that changing anything other than the protocol they’ll put me on post-transfer. Sort of scared to breathe in case I do something wrong and somehow mess things up. Mostly just trying to keep stress levels down and spirits up.

    GTKY: How/where have you made new friends as an adult? Ok I asked this question because I am a work in progress, but the best answer I have so far is just getting involved. I’ve joined a handbell choir, facilitated a book club for multimodal transportation advocates in my area, and volunteered with the community engagement department of my company. Lots of good acquaintances at this point, still working to convert them into the kind of deep friendships I’ve been craving since I moved here! (My husband jokes that I have a “target acquired” approach to making friends.)
