✨NEED ideas for gender reveals!!✨

HI!! I want to do an intimate gender reveal for just my husband and I but I need ideas! The cake thing is cute but I’m not real big on cakes/cupcakes and I feel like it’s kind of a waste of money cause I won’t eat it 😂😂
Thank you!! 💕

  • I saw the cutest one, and they got beautiful pictures of it as well. Have someone put either blue or pink confetti in a closed umbrella, wrap it up, and on the day, open the umbrella over your heads and it’ll rain down pink or blue. I believe they used medium sized tissue paper circle cutouts for the one I saw.

  • how about a little scavenger hunt at home with clues leading to a surprise box filled with blue or pink balloons? 🎈 that could be super fun and personal!

Just looked it up on the 'Heal Baby Care App' and here's what it says:

"Congratulations on your exciting news! Instead of a cake, consider a balloon pop filled with colored confetti or powder that reveals the gender when popped. Another idea is to create a small box filled with colored balloons that float out when opened. Both options are fun, memorable, and don’t involve food waste!

What kind of activities do you and your husband enjoy together?"
  • I really think one of the best things about it isn't the actual gender reveal, it's looking back at photos or videos and remembering the day you celebrated the life you're about to bring into this world. No matter what you do, make the time with your partner the most important part of the day. If you're keeping it small and intimate with just you and your partner you can always have a small picnic at a nice lookout and let off a a pair gender reveal smoke cannons together - just put a camera off to the side recording you when you do - trust me you'll love to look back and remember the moment!

With that said, if you were to go all out (totally not necessary):

I've seen some really really unique gender reveals out there. I think one of my favourites was from the lockdowns where a couple posted a western themed gender reveal on instagram - I can only imagine her husband thinking it's the dagiest thing ever until the she finished the final video!

Another great one was just a cool friend going the extra mile with all the cakes and decorations for her Gender Reveal. I honestly liked this because it didn't have a sickening amount of blue and pink everywhere. I think it was a little more classy.

Just remember, it's you and your family, not you and the world!
