How would you all pronounce Mischa?

I like the traditional spelling Mischa. My partner prefers a more phonetic spelling Mesha because he thinks it will get pronounced wrong. What do you all think?

Mee-sha. I'd pronounce Mesha as "mesh-uh". Changing the spelling changes the vowel sound, from the ee in "bee" to the eh in "bed"

I say mee-sha for Mischa and meh-sha for Mesha. Why does your partner think that it won’t be mispronounced spelled that way? The word ‘mesh’ isn’t pronounced ‘meesh’ either
