I’m being laid off .. what are my options

My job let me know the 11th of this month they are closing shop ! I’m due in July so this is horrible timing … any moms had to apply for unemployment or temporary cash assistance ? If so how was the process

  • I'm so sorry to hear that 😔 I haven't experienced this but with my first pregnancy my clinic was pushing really hard for WIC. I couldn't qualify at first because of my income but during maternity leave when I was on disability pay then my income allowed me to join. It helped with lessening the grocery bill at least

  • When we moved while pregnant and I didn't have a job until after baby was 12 weeks old, we were able to qualify for WIC. It really helped with groceries. In got really good at planning meals around what we were getting from WIC. With my husband still working, we wouldn't qualify for anything else, but the WIC income guidelines are higher than most things.
