Neck rashes and raw skin

So my 5 1/2 month old daughters got no neck and it results in the red raw skin frequently under her chin and jaw. We began washing with a warm wet rag, followed by drying every night before bed along with some Lotrim anti fungal cream for 7 days. It would go away and we cleaned and dried daily after that.

The rash came back, doctor said use Aquaphor ointment. We now do it 3 times a day with the ointment and the red raw skin is gone but some breakout bumps/rash appeared on her chest. What are those bumps? Any tips on preventing the bumps? They didn’t show up until we applied the Aquaphor.

Re: Neck rashes and raw skin

  • It's a possibility that your baby could have had an allergic reaction to the aqahour. You might need to talk to daughters doctor and let them know what's going on. They might have to prescribe your daughter medicated cream or ointment to help clear up her bumps or rash.

  • My baby has thick rolls at her neck and the skin gets very red and irritated with “cheesy” stuff in the crevice. We do a bath (or shared shower) daily, sometimes we skip a day, with only warm water and then do a coconut oil massage, paying special attention get in the cracks, and the redness stays away. Her pediatrician recommended this.
