I can't get comfy sleeping on my side. I have a basic pregnancy pillow but don't really like it. Anyone else get achy hips sleeping on your side? In a back sleeper so side sleep is rough.
My friend (now TTM) said this is the best pillow she’s used so far. https://www.babybub.com/products/pillow I’m hoping to purchase it myself. Usually I’m a side sleeper but I have been finding myself on my back (of course only after week 20 🤦♀️).
I've been a side sleeper all my life but have always gotten achy hips when sleeping. I find the pregnancy pillow that is a big U shape to help because I can easily roll over and grab the other "leg" of the pillow to put between my knees.
I’ve been noticing myself on my back too so I just ordered the baby bub.
Interestingly today I saw Emily Oster post results from recent interesting studies that did not demonstrate any link between specific side or back sleeping and birth outcomes. The conclusion seemed to suggest a small percentage of women don’t feel good on their backs, so if you notice you don’t feel well or feel dizzy, it could be a sign to avoid it. But the majority of women need not panic. I’m generally a side sleeper, and don’t mind sticking to the conventional wisdom more or less. But it gave me ease that I don’t need to get worried or criticize myself if I wake up comfortably on my back.
S_eliz8927 This is good to know. I fall asleep on my side because I’m supposed to but it’s not comfortable for me anymore and I’m waking up on my back and it makes me nervous.
