  • Welcome ladies! Don't stress about giving birth yet! There is so much to enjoy (and get through) over the next 9 months.  Don't waist your time stressing about labor.  If you are worried about how your body will handle it, I recommend trying some things that will help you feel better prepared.  Getting out and walking daily, trying prenatal yoga, or even hypno birthing are all things to consider.
  • I know birth plans are super personal, but for me I LOVED my experience with having a home birth with midwives for my 3rd baby. Personally I wish I had gone that route from the beginning, but I didn't have the option for our first couple births for various reasons.
It was peaceful even though it was painful. My body felt so safe and relaxed, so labor went faster. I loved it. I also do have medical trauma, so that's a factor for me with hospitals!
Try to envision the environment you would feel safest in. If you've had hard things happen in hospital settings before, like I had, it could be stressful for you. Or if you wouldn't feel safe at home, that would be more stressful!
Knowing where you will probably feel safest is going to really make a huge difference in your birth.
If you feel safe and calm in your environment you have amazing odds at having a beautiful birth, I think!
  • It could be helpful to watch birth videos on YouTube! For me even just hearing certain sounds of a hospital trigger me when I watch those videos, so if you feel that way at all just pay attention to that. I wish I hadn't ignored it and pushed through for everyone else's opinions sake!
But I know I've seen so many women have amazing births in that setting and it was so beautiful and peaceful for them! Maybe if you watch all kinds of different birth videos you can give your mind a positive picture of birth. Because media shows it pretty inaccurately!! It is not a scary thing. It's not a health problem. It's life!
  • Personally, I would have loved to be able to give birth in a birthing house, but since I was at high risks of complications it wasn't really an option. We'll see how things go this time around.
  • Tell me all the positives about having a December birthday!
  • @1sttimebbmama Funny enough, 2 of my 3 hit other major holidays so it feels pretty fitting to have a December due date! I’m pretty excited to have an excuse to hibernate in December and winter time.
  • That will be nice! Cozy days / nights in!

P.S. I am very into 2nd bfast, 2nd lunch, 2nd dinner. Constant snacks is what helps my nausea :)
  • I’m also very nervous about the birthing process but trying not too think too much about it this week. I know I’ll do it in a hospital tho.

I've had 5 hospital births and 2 homebirths so far. Definitely hoping for another homebirth this go around!! There's nothing like being able to shower in your own shower afterwards and sleeping in your own bed right after is everything!!!

Yes!! I have a 4th of July baby! I loved having an excuse to not go out and he thinks the fireworks every year are for him and I'm not telling him otherwise!
