Symptoms

Just wondering what some of your symptoms are in the first few weeks? I'm at 5 weeks and it's exciting to see my body change already. I've had very mild cramping, but my main symptom is hardening and sensitive nipples and aeolas are enlarged. I've also been wanting to sleep earlier each night and just want to sleep more.

Re: Symptoms

  • 5 weeks, 2 days here! Just started feeling kind of nauseous yesterday. I need to snack constantly!! It helps with nausea to take little bites of food. And I'm definitely more tired. I noticed when I get some exercise (walking), if I'm not already tired, I do get more energized.

Happy baby journey to you all!

  • I’ve got nausea and bloating so far 🤢
  • 5 weeks here. Sore breasts, darkening nipples and some nausea.
Fruit seems to be a good thing to ward off the nausea.
  • 5 weeks as well! Mostly I’m just hungry and sleepy at this point. 😄 A few short bouts of nausea and heartburn but nothing too bad. I’m also still nursing my 2yo and have been pretty sensitive.

  • Y’all, I’m so sick 😩. 5 weeks 4 days here and I’m going THROUGH it. Nausea, heartburn, food aversions , exhaustion, and throwing up in the nail salon parking lot. lord thank you for my bean but Helppppp
  • Talk to your provider for the nausea. There's a couple of alternative reliefs if ginger chew, ginger tea or protein snacks don't help.
  • Seconding @froggerblue on there being more options for nausea. I tried it all with my second pregnancy, preggo pops, sea sickness bands, perppermint, everything! Ultimately, my provider okay’ed Unisom/B6 combo and it worked wonders! There’s also Zofran and Diclegis (need an Rx for these in the US) if things are real bad.

My symptoms have been relatively mild: cramping weeks 5-7, big ol’ sore boobs, exhaustion, and now (just hit 9 weeks) I’m getting a touch of nausea. Starting to up my snacking to stave it off a bit. I really can’t complain though; I know how bad things can get!

  • @MrsCaliRN the Unisom/B6 combo is just DIY Diclegis! Only difference is that the DIY version tends to kick in right away (at least the Unisom side) vs a slower release. Both options considered super safe for pregnancy.

My OB had me on 25mg of B6 and a half tab of Unisom x3 a day (so every 8 hours) in my last pregnancy and it kept me out of the hospital for sure! I’m at 5.5 weeks and got hit at 6 weeks last baby, so already ordered them 🙏

In Canada, the name for Diclegis is Diclectin. I'm currently using Diclectin 10-10mg. I bonify it with Gravol and Reglan if it gets really bad as per my doctor's instructions. It hasn't happened in this pregnancy so far. Zofran isn't recognized as a morning sickness solution here, so most insurances won't cover it without a cancer diagnosis. We looked into it with my doctor, since I had a hard time keeping anything down in the second trimester. I'm hoping it doesn't get this bad this time around since I was pretty miserable.
  • Also, if you're in Canada, you can get Diclectin by talking to a pharmacist. You don't have to talk to a doctor. Pharmacist are allowed to prescribe Diclectin to control nausea during pregnancy.
