rant: *unsolicited parent advice* why do people feel the need to tell you how they think they raised their kids is better and you should do XYZ. My first struggled with bottle refusal, and family thinks I “put my boob in his mouth too much” ?!? I exclusively breastfed and will this baby too and my IL’s are pushing me to use bottles and pacis asap (like in the hospital from day 1) and pumping around the clock to count oz and so “everyone can feed the baby.” I nursed my son for 20 months and none of them breastfed more than a few weeks so idk why they feel the need to “correct” how I choose to feed my kid. Like the boob is the devil or something. I’m not going to do it- of course, but why they care so much idk. It’s starting to piss me off, probably the hormones lol.
Questions: How do you deal with the unsolicited- terrible- advice? I thought it would be better with the second but I guess not.
Establishing a bedtime routine with baby and my toddler! He’s a big mamas boy and I’m afraid it’s gonna be rough at first.

How are you feeling?: pretty good this past week. I’ve been more energized and working out a little bit more which has felt good and helped with better sleep.
Rants/Raves: I ordered everything this weekend. Everything for the nursery and all the essentials. I moved my office out of what will be the nursery to the basement and adjusting to my new office space.

Upcoming Appointments: end of month, and then MFM growth scan first of May
How are you feeling?: stressed. I'm really worried about her small size and what it might mean.
Rants/Raves: Rave: Japan was fantastic. Rant: still can't regulate my schedule (Japan is 16 hrs different).
Questions: Anyone been diagnosed with IUGR? My next growth scan will determine if baby girl has growth restrictions and I'm really nervous.

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow morning, i think i’ll be doing the gestational diabetes screening tomorrow
How are you feeling?: great! i’m showing so much more than with my previous pregnancies & i keep asking my husband if my waddle has kicked in yet. he swears it hasn’t but i feel like a penguin 😂
Rants/Raves: rants- i move too fast & quickly get reminded to slow down by the round ligament pains. also, my baby had hand foot & mouth all last week. he had it bad for the first three days, fever on and off and he couldn’t eat cause it was too painful for him. i’m so happy he’s over it now & his blisters are slowly taking off!
raves- my baby slept through the night last night! he only does that once in a while since he still wakes up to eat once or twice, so it was a treat for me & i woke up feeling amazing!

@sph97 i really have no good advice, but i completely understand you! i just ignore it & only voice my reasons behind my decisions if they really keep pushing it.

How are you feeling?: A pressure system moved into the area last night and I have a massive headache. I seem to be more sensitive this pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: I have a lot of travel the next two months so I'm looking forward to that.

GTKY: What are you most nervous about approaching baby’s arrival? I remember being so weak for weeks after birth last time. I could barely hold up my 7lb infant and now I also have a 25lb toddler.

Upcoming Appointments: May 10th - after that I start going every two weeks!
How are you feeling?: tired today but overall been feeling well.
Rants/Raves: rave: I passed my one hour glucose test, which I never have before! That was such a relief to find out.

How are you feeling?: I am in the glory days!
Rants/Raves: MFM says I for sure have to deliver before 36 week due to history or partial abruption. So I have an appointment at 34 weeks to follow up.

Upcoming Appointments: Monday I will finally have my anatomy scan at 24 weeks.
How are you feeling?: tired but good.
Rants/Raves: switching OBs. Nervous about it but haven’t been receiving very thorough care where I’m at so after my scan Monday I’m moving all my stuff to another office.
Questions: Has anyone else switched drs this late?
Fwiw I’m likely switching OBs at week 23.
