Anyone had to wear an Event Monitor for 7 days?

My endocrinologist (new patient with Hashimoto) recommended to wear an event 7 day monitor on my chest to record my heart rhythm and make sure everything is normal. Because of my Thyroid. But I’m in my first trimester, also had a miscarriage last year, I’m so nervous it might harm the baby or growth. I have worn it for 2 days now and freaking out. Anyone had to wear this before?

Re: Anyone had to wear an Event Monitor for 7 days?

  • I haven’t had to wear an event monitor, but I am a cardiac nurse. The monitor is recording your heart’s electrical activity, but it isn’t doing anything that can harm you or the baby. It should be completely safe for you to wear during the allocated time, and it may help your care team identify any arrhythmias early on and intervene if necessary to make your pregnancy safe for you and baby 💕

  • I did in my last pregnancy but when I was closer to full term. Baby was just fine. I’m sure if there was any risk involved they would have explained that
