How are y’all sleeping?

Any tips or things that have helped you get better sleep?

Re: How are y’all sleeping?

  • I take a prescription mood stabilizer at night that knocks me out. If I didn’t take that I wouldn’t sleep. Ha. Still wake up to pee twice a night though.

  • I take unisom for nausea and I think it helps me sleep.
  • A ton of magnesium bisglycinate. Relaxes your body to help you sleep.
  • Terribly, lol! I need to start taking unisom again but I remember it making me drowsy in the mornings my last pregnancy. It definitely helps you sleep though! I also try not to eat past 6/7 so my heartburn/nausea isn’t as bad. I e noticed if I eat later I’m more nauseous and my heartburn is terrible!
  • I have been having pregnancy insomnia the last few kids. This one is falling right in line.

I tend to wake up between 3 and 5 a.m. Doesn't matter how early or late I go to bed; there something about that time that makes it hard to impossible for me to sleep.
  • I just noticed that I'm starting to feel more achy when I wake up. My first pregnancy, a pregnancy pillow really helped a lot. The other thing I did right away with this pregnancy is take Nexium for the heartburn. I tried dietary management, tums and tagamet with my first and was absolutely miserable until I changed to Nexium in my third trimester. Nexium is category B in pregnancy and has been a game changer for me to avoid the coughing and choking fits in the middle of the night with acid.
  • @lqbtqmommy I hear you. I can’t seem to get comfortable at night and have been thinking about ordering a pregnancy pillow to see if it helps.

@cscrzldbg also team awake between 3-5am. Then I just fall asleep and the dog wakes up to go out at 5:30. It’s rough.

@lexilougolden can I ask how many mg you take? I tried unisom last night because I’m having a lot of trouble sleeping and it did nothing 😔
  • @babyonthewayaug24 Be sure it's the right sleep tab (not gels). I take 25mg.

  • @lexilougolden ahhh there’s the problem! I didn’t know there was a difference, thanks!

To be honest my sleep become terrible those days. I had food cravings when pregnant with a boy, so i decided to read this article https://betterme.world/articles/food-cravings-when-pregnant-with-a-boy/, because of such problems i really cant sleep. If you have such question about it, i really recommend you to read it!
  • I use a bedtime story app called Adel, the white noise feature really helps me sleep, lol
  • Not well. I'm a back sleeper and can no longer do that at 20 weeks 😭 I'm trying to do less screen time and more reading/ meditating before bed.

I feel like I sleep better when I use my magnesium lotion on my legs before bed. I’ve even started rubbing the residue from my hands on my toddlers feet and I think it helps him too!!
  • I was waking up ache-y and ended up getting a maternity pillow. It took a little getting used to (and I'm still not sure the best way to get in bed anymore), but I haven't been waking up (as) ache-y.
