Re: Weekly Check-In 2/20 ☀️

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: October 24 / 4w5d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 2nd time mom

Baby is the size of a (an): Bobby pin’s tip

Team blue/pink/green: TBD but we will find out as soon as we can

Upcoming Appointments: 3/20 for initial appointment and dating scan

How are you feeling?: Surprisingly normal, so far I don’t have any nausea or sore boobs or any of the symptoms I had super early on last time... Which of course makes me nervous! But trying not to read too much into it and be grateful I feel good. I’ve also been exhausted but I feel like I’m always tired anyways with a 17 month old and work.

    Rants/Raves:
Raves: Had such a wonderful day off yesterday and took my daughter to the zoo and then took my dog to the dog park. The weather has been incredible, sunny but not too hot.

Rants: We hosted people for 10 days for Mardi Gras and they just left on Sunday so I feel very stressed about how messy the house is, how much money we spent, how many life admin things I’m behind on because of it… I need a vacation from the vacation haha

    Questions: None at the moment

GTKY: If you could re-read or re-watch something for the first time again, what would it be? I’d rewatch Game of Thrones and I would reread The Nightingale or the last Harry Potter book

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: October 15. 6 weeks+1day

FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM (with 3 teenage stepchildren)

Baby is the size of a: dried corn kernel! 😂

Team blue/pink/green: I want a healthy baby first, then hopefully a girl to balance out some of the masculine energy in this house!

    Upcoming Appointments: 2/26!

How are you feeling?: My nausea isn’t as constant now. So I don’t know if that’s good or bad. My boobs are still so sore and my husband swears they’ve gone up at least one cup size (I don’t wear bras normally, but I’ve been living in some stretchy maternity bras to ease some of the soreness). I have pretty bad lower back pain. It’s not sharp, but it’s a constant dull ache that’s starting to get hard to ignore - not much helps but heat, but I’ve read not to use too much heat in the 1st trimester so I’m using a heating pad on low in short intervals. I don’t know whether to attribute this to having a retroverted uterus or just normal 1st trimester symptoms.

Rants/Raves: We homeschool our three teens (my stepkids) and my husband has been gone on work trips the last two weeks for days at a time. We moved to Florida and both got new jobs last year to prevent him having to travel as much, and it’s not working out like we were promised. I’m so tired all the time and constantly seem to be falling asleep during the day and I feel like I’m failing the teens, though I know that they can do a lot on their own. I just need my husband here to help support their learning when I fall short.

Questions: does anyone else have a retroverted (tilted) uterus? If so, how did that affect your ability to hear a heartbeat or see anything in an ultrasound? I’ve heard from some moms that they didn’t see baby until 15 weeks because of the tilt, and others said they saw it at 8, so I’m just wondering! I know about 1 in 5 women have a tilted uterus so I can’t be the only one in here!

GTKY: If you could re-read or re-watch something for the first time again, what would it be? I’d rewatch Bridgerton and reread the Throne of Glass series. If you like fantasy that’s definitely one of the best series out there in my opinion!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/28, 4 weeks 2 days

FTM/STM/TTM+: STM with big age gap! My daughter is 8.

Baby is the size of a (an): poppyseed

Team blue/pink/green: not sure yet but can’t wait to find out!

Upcoming Appointments: I have my second blood draw to measure my hcg levels tomorrow. My doctor ordered this testing because I had a miscarriage in November.

How are you feeling?: nausea has begun. It was bad last night. I didn’t have nausea in the pregnancy I miscarried so even though it feels bad to feel sick, it makes me feel like this is a healthier pregnancy? Idk.

Raves: I went to Miami for the long weekend and had a really nice time! I live in the northeast. I’m happy to be home too though!

Rants: I want everyone to know I’m pregnant and treat me like gold but it’s too early to share! Hahaha

GTKY: If you could re-read or re-watch something for the first time again, what would it be? I’d re-read the A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/4, 7w5d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): A jellybean 😁

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/1

How are you feeling?: Very nauseous, trying to deal as best I can to delay having to get on medicine again. My last pregnancy I had severe nausea up till birth. I'm also so so tired.

Rants/Raves: Rave: I'm glad my Obgyn is easy to reschedule with. Jury duty popped up for my spouse during our original appointment and he's never missed one before. I want him to be able to be there and we were able to get a new appointment quickly.

    Questions: None

GTKY: If you could re-read or re-watch something for the first time again, what would it be? Re-watch and re-read the Harry Potter series probably. 😂
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: October 12 / 6w4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Baby is the size of a (an): sweet pea 🫛

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: had one today; next is 3/1

How are you feeling?: tired but not too bad overall. As long as I’m getting decent sleep at night I’m feeling pretty good. My almost 3yo had a bad night on Monday and I was feeling pretty awful yesterday.

Rants/Raves: we got to see the heartbeat today!!!! It was too small to measure the speed but it was so lovely (and surreal) to see it flickering!

Questions: anyone else getting really emotional about silly things?

GTKY: If you could re-read or re-watch something for the first time again, what would it be? I haven’t been watching much TV since I go to bed really early these days but I’d like to rewatch Schitt’s Creek
