Upcoming Appointments: 2/21 starting every 2 week appts!
How are you feeling?: good! Shortness of breath sometimes so I’ll be happy when she drops lol other than that taking things day by day!
Rants/Raves: we had fam/friends over yesterday for the Super Bowl. We had snackies and stuff so that was fun.
H took me to storage to get baby clothes & the swing/bouncer so all of that is washed. I just need to finish organizing the clothes. But it’s kinda hard because I don’t have her dresser yet. H was out of work a lot this past month because of an injury + his job has been cutting hours like crazy. So he’s currently looking for something else.
Rant is that I didn’t realize my doctor is due in 3 weeks! So she’ll be out on maternity leave. I hadn’t seen her in 7 weeks so I didn’t notice her bump last time. So I have to switch to another one in the practice and I hope I like her just as much.
Questions: nope
GTKY: do you watch sports? Did you play any growing up? I’ll watch whatever’s on if I’m with other people watching. But I don’t play super close attention. I do enjoy going to games mostly for the social aspect + food!! lol I was not too athletic growing up (I cannot run) so I did dance!
Upcoming appointment: 2/21. Also transitioning to every two weeks. Though I gotta submit my first week of glucose numbers by Friday.
Feeling: well if I get enough sleep I have energy and my glucose numbers are good. If I don’t, everything is off. Like today. 😩 BH have been intense. Reflux is worse with the GD diet but the constipation is better. Haha.
Rant: I’m hosting DH’s family for a few days this weekend and I’m so tired. I’ve gotta clean and cook and accommodate normal, gluten free, AND my diabetic diet along with my picky children. Yall.
Rave: at least DH is stepping up so much to help with the kids food and his own so I can focus on planning, preparing, and counting macros for mine.
That and adjusting my whole schedule around eating and testing feels like a part time job.
GTKY: I don’t really watch sports besides the Olympics. But I played volleyball in high school.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 27w 1d, May 13th - how are we already reaching 3rd tri?!
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Baby is the size of a (an): Fennec fox
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday for glucose test, rhogam, US to make sure fluids are still okay
How are you feeling?: Pepcid is now a daily thing, fun times. I also am considering getting a support belt because I am having SPD pain. I had it the last few weeks with my first but it has already started to ramp up this time. Also, I cannot sleep!!! I toss and turn all night.
Rants/Raves: School is ALOT. I had my first pharmacology exam yesterday and left wanting to cry - ended up getting an 84 so actually didn't do too terribly but I swear I guessed on half of the questions, lol.
Questions: Nope
GTKY: do you watch sports? Did you play any growing up? I don't. My sister plays college basketball so I watch her games but thats it lol.
EDD / Weeks + Days: May 11, 27 weeks + a couple days
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Baby is the size of a (an): head of lettuce?
Team blue/pink/green: pink
Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday, but nothing special that I know of
How are you feeling?: I just had a nap, so pretty good! Moving around is getting a little more difficult, and I had two really good nights of sleep that made me think I'd figured something out, but the last two have been worse than usual so maybe not.
Rant: I'm really getting frustrated with the tingly fingers from carpal tunnel and wish I had some solutions for that, but at least the doctor thinks it'll go away with or shortly after delivery.
Rave: At least when I lie awake at night, I usually get to feel the baby kicking and moving around. It's not enough yet that I think she's waking me up, but it definitely helps pass the sleepless time.
Questions: none
GTKY: do you watch sports? Did you play any growing up? I was not an athletic child and remain a not particularly athletic adult. I did play softball for a year or two in elementary school, but it didn't really hold my interest and it took years for me to get my grandparents to stop asking me if I was still playing. I don't watch sports now either, generally. I did watch the Super Bowl (I'm in Missouri, so the Chiefs doing well still feels very new and exciting because even though I never cared about it, my family always has), and I go to my goddaughter's swim meets when I can. I've missed them all this season so far because flu and covid numbers are so high around here and I don't feel safe in that crowded space.
Upcoming Appointments: 3 weeks with glucose 1 hour
How are you feeling?: About the same in most areas - heartburn under control with meds, but maybe picking up a little this week, baby's position/size making it difficult to breathe and needing to pee SO MUCH, feeling bigger all the time, but also getting used to it, loving all of her extra movement! Pregnancy insomnia is worse lately, almost feels like 50/50 if I'm going to wake up and not be able to sleep for at least an hour or two. Still very stressed about logistics of health care insurance, which hospital I may be forced to deliver at, maternity leave, childcare, ect. especially after my husband's lay off.
Rants/Raves: Loud construction going on at work in the mornings. I was nervous about baby girl's ears, so I've been able to work from home a lot more lately and it is really nice! Especially appreciating a little bit more of a sleep in with all of the bad nights' sleep lately.
Questions: Does anyone have Valentine's day plans/traditions?
We usually don't do much, but this year I got us tickets to a murder mystery dinner event! Hoping that they don't expect me to act, I am awful at being put on the spot lol!
GTKY: do you watch sports? Did you play any growing up? A certain team won the big sports event this past weekend and it was more or less an obligatory watch where I'm from. Happy everyone else is happy, lol! 🏈
I played tennis most of my life! 🎾 It's a great skill to pick back up whenever I feel like getting back into it. I mostly stopped following the professionals a long time ago, but I've really enjoyed watching Break Point on Netflix!
How are you feeling?: I've been pretty sore lately - all of baby's constant movements are making my belly button ache lol! The hips and pelvis still hurt like heck at night, but my reflux isn't so bad as long as I remember to eat smaller portions.
Rants/Raves: I've already pulled a few long work days this week, and might need to do one or two more to hit deadlines. 😖 It's exhausting but at least a 3 day weekend is coming. Looking forward to sleeping, drawing, and catching up on shows/reading my new library books!!
Questions: Does anyone else's baby move for what feels like hours at a time? I'm amazed and slightly worried at the amount of stretching/jerking/twitching going on in my belly
GTKY: do you watch sports? Did you play any growing up?
I don't watch or play sports, though H and I will tune in to the Super Bowl every year. Growing up I was more interested in books/art/computers. I did join a bowling league in middle school, is that a sport? Lol
@stress_engine ohh I hope you enjoy it! I've done one before - I couldn't follow the murder mystery at all, but it was fun to dress up and have dinner in character 😆
We don't really celebrate Valentine's day, though this year I've bought him some new coffees to try, and will be baking some of his favorite cookies (alfajores but with a coconut twist)
@stress_engine we usually do takeout and a movie in for valentines but with money tight and gestational diabetes making takeout nearly impossible, we’ll probably just call it good with sex. Lmao.
@denise_amd yes, this kid wiggles more than either of my other two. Might have to do with finally not having an anterior placenta this time but he is nuts. He usually takes a break between breakfast and mid afternoon, but evening and all night he’s partying. Which I suspect will be his MO when he comes out, too. lol.
@stress_engine We won’t be doing anything special since H Is pretty broke rn from not working a lot I told him he needs to make it up to me and he agreed! 😂 Normally he’ll get me flowers/chocolate/card but we don’t usually go out. We’ll do takeout or something. Instead I’m making baked ziti for the fam as his parents aren’t going out either.
@denise_amd yes this girly pop moves a lot when she’s awake! It’s definitely confusing how much they can move but they do move a lot as a newborn too! My son was always moving his arms and legs 🤣
How are you feeling?: feel fine - baby is super wiggly
Rants/Raves: ended up with GD again 🙃 no surprises there.
Questions: none
GTKY: I don’t really watch sports. I’ll watch baseball if the Yankees are playing (New Yorker here) and a big marathon if it’s streaming. No sports as a kid, but I got into running as an adult
@pennyandzooey yep. I’ve had a few high fasting numbers so I’ll prob need to start meds but I did one dose of meds for fasting with my son, and never needed to add anything more, so that’s what I’m hoping for this time. So far meals have gone great.
