9wks & Really Fluctuating Symptoms

Hi!

While we confirmed a heartbeat two weeks ago, I’ve been super anxious over the changes in my symptoms. I seem to almost cycle through days with symptoms and days without, but until recently my breasts/nipples had some level of tenderness.

Yesterday, every smell trigger gagging and I was nauseous for most of the day. My breasts were swollen and tender. I had to take a nap to make it through the day. It was a really heavy symptom day.

Today? Nothing. No tenderness or swelling. No adverse smells. No nausea.

This happens every other day, every three days. With the lesser symptom days more often than the mega symptom day.

I am hoping there are other women out there experiencing this? I’m scared and don’t really have any friends or family to talk to about these concerns. While my husband is an amazing pillar of positivity, I could use another voice of reason to help me navigate this.

Re: 9wks & Really Fluctuating Symptoms

  • Hi! I'm experiencing this as well. From what I understand that once the placenta takes over the symptoms reduce and that's around week 10/11. I was so sick week 6-8.5 and tail end of week 8 and week 9 it was minimal. I'm 10+1 and just had an ultrasound and the baby is doing great! If you would've asked me last night while I was crying because I wasn't "sick" enough I was scared something was wrong. As you get closer to 2nd trimester the symptoms taper down. If you are worried reach out to your OB 😀

  • It’s completely normal for pregnancy symptoms to fluctuate day-to-day. That’s my pregnancy mantra during the first trimester and it really is true!
In the future, it’s helpful to put these types of questions (and any others) in the question thread to make sure it doesn’t get lost and to keep the board organized!!
  • I prefer “one-off” threads, the question board is messy with multiple people responding to unrelated questions one after the other- it’s hard to track. As a project manager for a living, it’s best to keep subject related matters separate so people can easily find a topic that relates to them.
  • @knottie there are a bunch of other websites that work that way!! The best way here to make sure your question doesn’t get lost is to use the stickied threads or the weekly threads 😊
  • @knottie. I agree completely. So much easier to see things and see the responses!!
