Private/FB group discussion

So….our group is still pretty small. But is anyone interested in migrating to a private group on Facebook or another platform at all? Maybe everyone is more comfortable sharing in a more private setting? If there’s not much interest then that’s totally cool. We will do vetting of course and we can discuss how we want to handle that. My last BMB moved around 3rd tri because we had an early delivery and there’s about 20 of us still. We also did a private bump group first but those aren’t as popular anymore. Add your thoughts below!

    I’ll add that I usually always stick around here as well to catch up and see if any lurkers want to come out of hiding and join. But I personally am only comfortable with regular posters joining the FB group. Another thing I wanted to mention is that even if you join the group you do not need to friend everyone in the group if you’d like to have that privacy still.

    Ok I selected later in the third tri but then I saw your comment about lurking here to see if anyone else pops in. I’m good either way. I’m just accustomed to like a six weeks before birth month situation from my old BMBs. But yeah, either.

    Curious if anyone is in any other groups on different apps? Also, if you went to a fb group with previous pregnancies, do you still chat with those moms?

    Maybe a combined fb group with the June BMB could be proposed there?

    @stress_engine I still am close with several from my April 2017 group and have met a couple in person. And I still chat daily with my April 2019 group too. I don’t mind the idea of combining as well.

    @HGRich yeah it’s different for me since I was due in late sept and most of the babies were born in late aug/early sept so I’m not used to being in the beginning haha! I’m totally okay with waiting I just didn’t want things to fizzle out before we got to that convo. I am also okay with combining, it’s pretty easy to see who is a regular poster in either group!

    Also my group has been together for almost 4 years and we talk regularly still. Not quite daily but I’d say at least monthly.

    I’m not on any other forums or apps either. I think a private FB group would be nice, but I don’t have strong opinions about the timing. I think FB might be a little more user friendly and conducive to conversation, which would be nice

    I am still close with my N20 BMB, we moved to FB in 3rd tri. There are about 40 of us. I'm down to move to FB anytime - but like the idea of continuing to be active/lurk here in case others join in! I am more active on FB since the bump app is harder to use lol.

    Someone just mentioned in my A19 group that we moved to Facebook five years ago today. I guess we did move in February. Lol. Granted we were due in April but it’s not that much different.

    I figure sometime march is probably a good time ? Everyone will be in 3rd tri too. We can make another post around then to figure out admins/mods and go through the vetting process. Like we mentioned before, we can still try to be active here as well after the move in case there are any late participants. But it always naturally dies down as the regs dont want to update in two diff places. 

    ✨If you’re a lurker & reading this, please participate now! It’s not too late! You will not be accepted into the FB group if you do not post here. Every time a group moves there’s a few people who come out of the woodwork to join last minute and they get left behind. Don’t be that person!!! ✨

    I have not been active but I’m going to give it another try! I chat with my bump groups from my first two children every single day and have met a few of them in person! I chat with both groups through Facebook messenger (each group formed a private Facebook group around third trimester and then eventually the active members there formed a chat on messenger). I’ve found it hard to get on The Bump this pregnancy but with both of my other kids, I loved having mom friends to chat with in the random MOTN wake ups and to ask all the millions of questions in the beginning months.

    @chickaboom3 we’d love for you to be able to join us! I definitely recognize that you’ve posted here. I don’t want us to exclude anyone for being busy. You pop in when you can and that means a lot!

    Do we want to start the process of admins/mods and make the group up? I say maybe we can allow a whole month for entry or something like that once it gets created?

    @HGRich same! I can make a post at some point. I would like for there to be a nomination of sorts. In my last BMB someone just made the group and assumed position of admin without us nominating anyone and it still bothers me to this day LOL

    Hello! I'm terrible with these boards so I guess I'd be considered a "lurker" at this point but I'm so much better with Facebook as an option to co-mingle! I get overwhelmed with all of the different phone apps honestly so I'm trying to get better at checking this website. If you'd be willing to bring me in I promise I'm kind and love to encourage, offer personal experiences, etc! I keep in touch at least weekly  with my March 18 board members that I met on this website so I am definitely looking for my Nov 2024 baby crew if at all possible!

    Hey, I know it’s been a while since I’ve been around here, but I’d like to join the fb group if everyone is okay with that! I had my boy preterm at 29+5 back on March 11th. He’s out of the NICU now but I’ve had my hands full to say the least.
