Upcoming appointments: Busy week of appointments! Anatomy scan (finally) on Wednesday and follow up with midwives on Thursday - and I also have my second pelvic floor PT appt on Thursday
How are you feeling: Pretty tired, but better today than I have been. I'm also having some anxiety - will explain in the spoiler as TW for preterm delivery
So a friend of mine recently had a baby super early - at 23 weeks (her due date for that baby is still two weeks away). Amazingly the baby is doing really well, though is still in the NICU and it will be a while to see how things turn out in the long-term. Everything with her pregnancy was normal until she went into early labor. I know her situation is not my situation and what happened to her is extremely rare, but it's still giving me some anxiety as I approach 23 weeks. I know it's irrational, but it is what it is. I remind myself of all of this and that helps, but the anxiety is still there.
Rants / Raves:
Rave: Made some progress on getting ready for baby last week though still have a long way to go. We moved my office to the basement and got started on painting that room for my daughter to move into it.
Rant: I don't think I have a rant this week!
Questions: None at the moment.
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? I would definitely do some traveling - and bring someone with me to watch the kid(s), so I could both enjoy it with them and get some time with just me and my husband.
Baby is the size of: an Endive… whatever that is haha
Team blue/pink/green: 💙
Upcoming appointments: Feb 28th
How are you feeling: pretty good overall. I feel like I am becoming more tired the bigger I get. I also feel like working out has been much harder the last week. I just don’t have the stamina anymore.
Rants / Raves: Rant: Our 1.5 week garage Reno is now in its 3rd week and my husband and I are both going crazy. I am really hoping it will be done by the end of the week
Rave: My baby shower is the first week in March. We are technically hosting because a lot of family is coming in from out of town but my mom and mother in law are helping to plan. We just decided on all the food and games so I am feeling better about everything now!
Questions: Does breast/nipple sensitivity go away before the babies birth? Mine are still super sensitive and idk how I would breast feed like this. It would be so painful!
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? I would want to go on a major relaxing vacation - like to the Maldives on one of those rooms on the water. That looks amazing but would probably be super expensive. @curlyandpreggo I love the idea of bringing someone to watch the kids!
How are you feeling: Uncomfortable & tired. I told my husband last night that I'm not ready for the baby to be here yet, but I'd be okay if the baby could gestate elsewhere for a little while haha
Rants / Raves: My boobs have gotten huge (this is relative, considering I'm very small-chested normally). They didn't get his big until I was nursing my other babies, so I'm a little apprehensive of how big they're going to get
Questions:
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? I'd buy my dream house.
Married: May 2012 DS1: May 2016 DS2: Jan 2019 Baby #3 EDD: 6/18/24
How are you feeling: I have all my energy, but I'm still pretty emotional. Mostly I could cry about anything, happy or sad. It's not a full cry either, it's just a little burn in my eyes, and then I try not to let them water, but they do anyway.
Rants: We have a head cold going through our house. I think we're on the tail end of it now, but I'm ready to forget that I even have sinuses. Raves: This beautiful weather! I've never had a warm birthday. There has always been snow for me, but the grass is green and the sun is shining! I could get used to this.
Questions
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? I picked two. I would make all our updates to our house that we've been planning for the next ten years. Four season porch, lawn sprinklers, front patio, masterbath and walk in closet in what would become the master suite. And then I'd get my hot mama car: white Camaro with gold stripes/detail. I know it's a little out there, but I just love it.
@curlyandpreggo My husband and I bring my little sister (24) with us on our family vacations and it's 150% worth it to have an extra set of eyes and hands with kids while traveling.
@saltedcaramel518 The boobs are def bigger this time... Nursing stage bigger. I hope they don't get too big too. I used to feel pretty good about them because they were low maintenance and looked good, but I know I'm going to struggle with having deflated boobs when this is all said and done. I don't want to hate them, but I don't see how I can be not disappointed. I keep telling myself it's all part of aging, but it's truly the part I dislike the most about my body changing.
Upcoming appointments: Feb 29th. Although I need to go in sometime before the 21st for blood panel and Gestational diabetes test.
How are you feeling: morning sickness has toned down a lot. Super emotional and tired.
Rants / Raves: had a follow up ultrasound yesterday. Still clearly a boy lol!
Questions:
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? Across America and go to Kodiak Alaska. Just stopping and visiting random stuff without having to rush on a timeline.
Upcoming appointments: end of month regular ob then recheck with MFM
How are you feeling: tired, major, heartburn, tired of already sleeping on my side
Rants / Raves: just had my anatomy scan with MFM and baby is measuring in the 75th percentile at 1 pound and 3 ounces, which makes me feel good.
Questions:
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? first pay off all bills and loans. Then house renovations. Also travel some. My best friend and I said in highscool we would go to Greece when we turned 30. That changed to in our 30s when life and kids hit us. 😅
Upcoming appointments: I'm waiting for them to call me to schedule a repeat ultrasound after our anatomy scan.
How are you feeling: Good! I feel like I'm starting to waddle, though. And this heartburn was kicking my butt last night. Other than that, I like being in this sweet spot of pregnancy when I'm visibly pregnant, but I can still do most things without my stomach getting in the way.
Rants / Raves: Baby girl looked amazing at the anatomy scan, but she was breech so they had a really tough time getting all of the images that they needed. I'm waiting for a call back to schedule a follow-up next month, so I'm a little nervous about that even though it seems pretty normal.
Questions: I know it was mentioned in an earlier thread, but I've forgotten where. Which baby registry site is everyone using? I feel like I need to buckle down and figure out what I need.
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? Oooohhhh... good question. I would love to go to the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles and pay to shut it down to the public so that I could view the room with only my group of friends/family. Both times that I've gone it's been so touristy, and I would love to see the room in private. Hell, while we're at it I'd also like to hire a photographer and stylist to set up a glamorous photo shoot. Let's just hope that I won a lot of money in this lottery.
Upcoming appointments: had my anatomy scan today and a routine midwife appt next week.
How are you feeling: really good. A little tired in the afternoon/evening but otherwise great.
Rants / Raves: Rave: anatomy scan went well. My midwife clinic uses and MFM clinic for all of their ultrasounds so I got to talk with an MFM doctor. She said that if I want an induction at 39 weeks, she’ll help me find a reason to do it. She also recommended a 32 week US because of my age (even though my midwife clinic doesn’t usually do that), so I’ll get to see baby again.
Rant: I have nothing other than a crib for this baby. I need to start researching and buying stuff. Things and products have changed since I did this the first time 9 years ago!
Questions:
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? Buy or build our dream house.
Upcoming appointments:in 4 weeks. I need to schedule it.
How are you feeling: grear
Rants / Raves: So happy that the anatomy scan went well and baby is big and healthy! Ecstatic for a boy!
Rant: I don't think my abs are ever getting back together. The amount of separation this early is really remarkable..after working so hard to get them back together after the twins 😮💨
Questions:
GTKY: If you won the lottery, what is one fun thing you would buy/see/do? Ooo..good question. I would probably do an elaborate extended family vacation, paying for all travel/ accommodations.
@elle-0409 I'm not doing a registry this time around because we are having the same gender and they are so close in age, but last time we used babylist and it worked great! It was really convenient being able to use their store + link to other stores. I also had registries at Target, Amazon, and Buy Buy Baby so I could take advantage of the discounts (and plan to again this time around for the same reason even though we won't send them to anyone).
@elle-0409 I did a Target registry with my first. With my second I did both Target and Amazon. I'll do both again, but I'm not expecting much involvement because these two boys are very close together. We'll do a shower, but it might just be a get together more than a shower. I care less about the gifting and way more about just celebrating baby on the way! I saw some baby shower cookies with a Schitts Creek theme, and they were funny with quotes like "It's not even her first kid" and "So, it's more of a sprinkle" I highly recommend the Amazon registry just for the discount. Anything on your registry is 15% off beginning right before the due date you have logged in the registry. The discount is good for three months after the due date and can be used on anything in the registry. You bet I added jeans for my husband, shoes for big brother and all sorts of other stuff to that registry after baby was born. It caps you at $2000, but it's helpful.
Re: Weekly Check-in w/o 2/4
