Early ultrasound scans

Has anyone done an early (6-7 week) abdominal ultrasound scan at a commercial center?

My OB won’t see me until 8 weeks, but it would put my mind at ease to see a heartbeat and rule out an ectopic pregnancy (and multiples?!) before I head out of town for 10 days.

would love to see pics if you want to share!

    Not at a commercial centre, but I’ll be having a scan on Feb 1 when I’ll be 6 weeks, 4 days. I can post a pic afterwards. :)

    I had a scan today. Based on my LMP I should be 6w3d but the ultrasound tech said the sac was measuring 4w5d. But we saw the yolk sac, fetal pole, and the flickering heart beat. I’m really confused because I read those are all things that wouldn’t be visible before 6w. I go back in 8 days and I’m cautiously optimistic since we saw the flicker. Pregnant until proven otherwise!

    @wasatchbaby I had an US at 6w with my son and they couldn't see anything with an abdominal US, but when they did it transvaginal and we were able to see a HB.

    I went in for my dating US and was 6 weeks 3 days, but it was transvaginal because that's what they do before 10 weeks. Saw the sac, fetal pole and heartbeat though! I'm 8 weeks today.

    Thank you! The place I’m going next week (at 7w 0d) said if they can’t see/hear anything they will give me a voucher to return which is nice… but then my ob appt is close to 9 weeks so should see it by then if all is good!

    I am not sure about being able to request early ultrasound as my OB’s in the area I live are apparently swamped for the month of January, but I ended up having some bleeding earlier this month and going to urgent care to confirm whether potential miscarriage/ectopic. They performed a transvaginal US and were able to confirm baby was there with a heartbeat around the 6 week mark. If you are worried I highly recommend going to urgent care as they can perform the US just to see where things are or any potential issues.

    I had my first at 6w5d on 1/22 and will have another on 1/29. I’m an IVF patient, so I get a lot of early scans and hormone measurements. All looked good, saw fetal pole, yolk sac, and HB was 118, hoping for more good news on Monday and then I’ll see my OB at 10 weeks.

    So far so good! Baby is measuring ~11mm and 138 BPM.

    I had an abdominal ultrasound yesterday at 7w 0d- baby is measuring 6w 5d with a heartbeat of 117bpm.  It’s real!! 😮
