3rd Trimester

Frank Breech/C Section

Hello I wanted to ask if any other mama's have had their baby in the frank breech position for a few months. My little one found her spot and position she liked and has not moved from it. I am 33 weeks so still have a bit of time for her to turn but the doctor has said there is the chance of a c section. Recovery tips for c section?

Re: Frank Breech/C Section

  • Recovery for a C: have a pillow ready to place over the incision for when you cough, sneeze, or transition from sitting to standing. Work on diaphragmatic breathing. REST. Learn to log roll to get in/out of bed. Breathe out when you’re on the toilet. Just take your time. It’s hard. But embrace that it’s a period of recovery and try not to set any expectations. Try to take short but tolerable walks when you can (I’m talking 1 minute to start) and get small amounts of movement every day.

Has anyone talked to you about an ECV to try to turn the baby? It’s not for everyone and it can be hard to find a provider who will do it, but definitely worth asking about.

  • My babe was breech at 33 weeks too, but I turned him successfully by going through a breech circuit I found on YT. The exercise that did it was called the Breech Tilt, and DH talked and sang to baby close to my pelvis so he would be encouraged to move, and he did!
Then, look up exercises and positions and postures that keep you open so that baby is more comfortable head-down. I also bought a belly band to help keep baby in place and add some support. Good luck! ❤️

  • My first baby was frank breech the entire pregnant and never flipped. I tried chiropractor and spinning baby but had to have c section. It was a planned one so I felt the experience was overall fine. I know it can be really hard on some people but for me it was ok. Of course it’s major surgery and there’s a recovery period but I don’t have a horror story like some. I felt it was okay! 💙💙
