Breast feeding with a thyroid problem

I been wanting to breastfed but I haven’t produced milk due to my thyroid does any one know of any ways to produce milk or help with the breastfeeding process

    This is something you should discuss with your doctor and a lactation consultant because you need the proper hormones to be able to produce milk. So that’s your first step, after that feeding the baby as much as possible and power pumping helped me increase supply.

    I only have partial thyroid after removal. It took 4 days for my milk to come in so we had to give formula in between because he was losing weight. I was really upset about it but had to come to terms with the fact that it’s better to give the baby formula than nothing! Now, my production is all over the place, some days I have 5oz per boob per feeding sometimes only 1. So I just give the baby as much as I can and don’t feel bad about giving formula inbetween because it was making me more stressed that I wasn’t always making enough and I haven’t found out yet how to control it. Whatever you can give is enough!
