Anyone else “lacking” pregnancy symptoms?

This is my 3rd pregnancy. With my first two I had nearly immediate nausea, cravings/aversions, throwing up, etc. I am nearing 7 weeks now and if it weren’t for the lack of menstrual cycle + very clear and dark positive pregnancy tests, I don’t “feel” pregnant whatsoever. Apart from very mild, occasional pulling sensations in my lower abdomen when I sleep, which I’ve read is normal, I have no cravings, nausea, tiredness, nothing. First prenatal appointment will be in a week.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Anyone else “lacking” pregnancy symptoms?

  • Hi there, I’m 6w3d today and this is my first pregnancy. I’m also having very little symptoms. Mostly just tender nipples/breasts, sometimes I feel tired, and I’ve had a couple of crying spells. I’ve never been pregnant before so if I hadn’t gotten positive pregnancy tests/missed my period I don’t think I’d know either. My doctor has tested my hCG levels and they are rising, but I won’t have my first appt for at least another week. I keep trying to tell myself no symptoms this early is normal too and I’m not having any signs there’s problem so that’s reassuring. It feels really unnerving that there’s so little we can do in the beginning, but I just tell myself I’m doing everything I can to be healthy.

  • I'm 6 weeks too and don't really have any symptoms. Just really tired sometimes and tender breasts but not really bothering me. My HCG is doubling every 48 hours.
  • I can empathize! I’m 6.5 weeks and have very mild symptoms that seem to come and go. I actually feel better than before I got pregnant—no migraines, better sense of smell, more condensed energy. I have to keep reminding myself that I’m pregnant. Very nervous to get to my first ultrasound!
  • Following this thread. Could you keep us posted, please?
  • @nken20 update: I’m having ultrasounds done every 2 weeks as my last pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at week 7. My first ultrasound done at week 7- no symptoms everything looked good. Second ultrasound week 9 (nausea finally kicked in on that week, I don’t think it’s TOO terrible though) everything appears fine and we could confirm a heartbeat :) Next appointment will be on week 13
  • Congratulations! I can feel that mixed emotions of yours. I hope everything will remain okay on your end. Fingers crossed for you.
  • Please keep us posted! I’m having this same experience! 1st two kids (one girl, one boy) I was very nauseous till 14 weeks and now currently 8.5 weeks and no symptoms yet. Had one miscarriage at 5 weeks in between them.
  • Same here! It’s my first pregnancy and I’m fairly shocked at how I’m almost symptom free. In a nutshell I feel lucky but get the anxiety that’s something’s wrong. I had some mild nausea/ headaches around 5-7 weeks. Confirmed a heartbeat and good hcg levels at 8 weeks. Now I’m almost 11 weeks and really very rarely get nauseas and the only thing that has stayed with me this entire pregnancy is the crazy breast soreness. If it wasn’t for a small bump that’s starting to take shape I wouldn’t even know I was pregnant.
  • I’m 12 weeks and have had NO morning sickness , I’ve heard it may be my age? I’m 33. It’s my first baby ! Any thoughts??
  • I'm 33 as of this month and this is the only pregnancy I've ever had, I've had 5 others, that I'm not puking my brains out atleast once a day. It's a bit nerve-wracking but I believe it's possibly my age. I'm exhausted and by bedtime for the kiddos I am closing down the house quickly and in bed within an hour myself. It's a relief to hear so many others not having all the symptoms as well.
  • I'm also 33! My first pregnancy and 10 weeks, I've not had any morning sickness.
Been super tired too. My only symptom has been sore boobs. Maybe it is an age thing.
  • Hey if it is, I'll take it! 1st trimester sickness is the WORST. I used to have to keep a bathroom trash can in my car.
  • Just wanted to update.. at 9w I had my first apt and ultrasound and baby was measuring only 6w and no heartbeat. Had another ultrasound a week later and the same results. So a missed miscarriage. Now I’m supposed to be almost 11 weeks and my body still hasn’t started miscarrying. Probably going to have a d & c :(

  • @jilldyk I'm so sorry for your news. I hope you are able to heal mentally and physically quickly. I'll be praying for you and yours.

Were you showing at all? You have me nervous now as I'm 11 weeks now too.
  • @jilldyk my heart goes out to you❤️ I also had a missed mc last year, baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks, I didn’t have my first ultrasound until week 11 when it was detected, my body finally reacted at week 12. It’s hard. Praying for our little angels up in heaven and for a lot of peace and healing for you
  • Thank you 🤍 no I wasn’t showing at all. Baby stopped growing at 6 weeks so that explains why I’ve had practically no symptoms. But I have heard of moms who have horrible morning sickness even after baby has passed and before they miscarry.
  • Thank you! I have my follow up ultrasound tomorrow but over the weekend started bleeding so hopefully my body is finally reacting and I don’t have to have a d & c
  • Pregnancy is such a mind F**k. Everyone is different and the symptoms can all implicate something else. Miscarriages are so cruel. One of the most low places I have ever been, was during a miscarriage. Hope you can feel our hugs. And if you don't have people to talk to, the ladies of the bump are here for you. 💛
  • I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had a MC this fall and had symptoms the whole 9 weeks so it was a complete shock at our ultrasound. The more I shared it with friends, the more I learned how many of us go through it. One insight that helped me was that a miscarriage in some ways is your body taking care of you. It knew something wasn’t right. But they’re such a hard experience not often talked about.

We’re here if you need support to process any of it.

I ended up getting a D&C because I was leaving the country days after my ultrasound and sometimes the bleeding can take weeks :(. It felt overwhelming when the doctor recommended it and I’d never had a surgical procedure before. But I ended up being surprised how positive an experience it was during a rock bottom emotional low. It was about 30 min long and I was asleep. Woke up feeling physically like nothing had ever happened and went on feeling strong and without any bleeding after the procedure. My period returned in about 4 weeks and my doctor cleared us to try again when we were ready “.

Every experience and individual need may be different! Just sharing incase you’re reading up on different options for next steps.

As hopefully a harbinger of hope, if and when you’re ready to try again, it’s a very low likelihood of happening twice in a row. Studies I looked at suggested 1-5% and my doctor did earlier scans (5.5 weeks) so we’d know sooner the second time around. My best friend is going through this now and had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks. You’re not alone ❤️❤️
