Upcoming Appointments: OB phone intake on Wednesday
How are you feeling?: definitely feeling more nauseous and tired this week than last, but still nothing unmanageable. Trying to eat frequently and get a nap each weekend! I’m also finding myself fairly easily irritated which I hate.
Rants/Raves: I did NOT kill my sourdough starter!! I have a loaf in the fridge waiting to be baked I’m so excited!! I also think I’m going to try to make some bagels later today!
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What’s a movie you can watch over and over again? I will watch Dirty Dancing every single time it’s on tv. I once started it again immediately after I just watched it prior to DH staging an intervention and making me turn off the tv lol 😂 definitely my guilty pleasure
@sph97 I haven’t used the Joey, but I just looked it up and it looks fairly similar to a ring sling (as far as the baby carrying aspects go) which I LOVED! I used my wild bird sling honestly up until my daughter was 2. I will say I personally would be worried about not being able to adjust the size to get the perfect fit.
I have a wild bird I used the first go around and my son LOVED, I was just attracted to the simplicity of the Joey. It would be easy to throw on and go!
Team blue/pink/green: will find out in a few weeks with nipt
Upcoming Appointments: next week
How are you feeling?: awful. I didn't think it would be worse than my first but it is. Any smell makes me gag. Extreme aversion to most foods. Vomiting. Fatigue.
Rants/Raves: Rant: if I wasn't a SAHM I think I'd be fired/let go due to me being unable to function at all. It's getting me down quite a bit because I can tell DH is stressed, and I'm not my usual go- getter self. Rave: DH has a work trip to Japan and I'm going to join him for a bit. I'm excited but also have a lot of anxiety that I won't be feeling well. Hopefully by then I'll be feeling better or have some medication to help.
Questions: Has anyone been to Japan? Have recommendations near Tokyo?
GTKY: What’s a movie you can watch over and over again? Dumb and dumber. 😄
@sph97 I haven't used that brand but I'm also curious about it. I didn't baby wear much with my first but I think with this baby I will need to. We'll have to start a products thread soon to see what recommendations there are!
Upcoming Appointments: just had my first appointment on 1/12. Next one is scheduled for 2/9.
How are you feeling?: Friday and Saturday were rough but since then I’ve been feeling better, more energetic and more like myself. Not 100% yet but hoping I steadily feel better until the second trimester (in the past I have felt totally fine by 14 weeks and this pregnancy has actually been milder than a couple of my others so I think this is realistic).
Rants/Raves: rant: my older two kids were up at 5:30 this morning. Way too early. Rave: so glad to have been feeling a bit better the past couple of days.
Questions: none
GTKY: What’s a movie you can watch over and over again? Mean Girls
How are you feeling?: Fatigue started to set in but overall still pretty good. Can definitely feel digestion slowing the last couple weeks.
Rants/Raves: Only a funny observation. When husbands are just mildly sick, you'd think they were dying. 😂
Questions: None, just a suggestion. Having a general question thread is beneficial in keeping posts down. Unfortunately, questions and replies get lost. And if you want to go back, trying to find a post is challenging to say the least. It would be different if replies were linked under a post but this forum isn't set up that way so the threads get long and convoluted. I would suggest a weekly general question thread. That way posts are less likely to get buried and if you want to go back to find something, it's a little easier.
GTKY: What’s a movie you can watch over and over again? The original Yours, Mine, and Ours or Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
@lexilougolden It's been years since I was in Japan so I'm sure a lot has changed. I stayed with locals on both of my trips and they took me around so unfortunately I don't recall the names of the places I went.
I really enjoyed visiting the gardens and temples. My favorite was a water temple (mizudera) on a hill. Honestly, I love anything nature. The markets were a lot of fun to walk around, too. There was a deer park with really small deer that were so friendly you could pet them. The festivals and holidays are so much fun!
Things on my wish list for a future trip: traditional tea ceremony, kabuki theater, cherry blossom festival, hot springs.
If it's possible to have a local show you around, accept! They can give you so much more information and show you places off the tourist path. Not that the tourist places are bad but it's cool to get a more in depth view of the locale and culture.
Start practicing simple phrases now. They people are so wonderful and helpful. And if you make the smallest effort to speak in their language many will almost bend over backwards to help you. They are very polite and really respect that in others.
How are you feeling?: I'm having occasional mild nausea and some fatigue, but otherwise pretty good.
Rants/Raves: I'm doing the countdown to get off my progesterone injections with the IVF. I know I would do them through the whole pregnancy if I had to, but realistically I'm so tired of always having a sore tush.
Questions: none
GTKY: What’s a movie you can watch over and over again? I don't really like rewatching movies... I'd rather see something I haven't ever seen before.
Team blue/pink/green: will find out but not sure just yet, gut feeling is blue
Upcoming Appointments: tbd. I had to cancel my dating ultrasound today due to coming down with covid
How are you feeling?: ok. Seem to have less nausea which is great. Covid is no fun though. It’s like a really bad cold for me
Rants/Raves: it is so so cold here and the kids have been off all week due to the holiday and then snow. No end in sight because we are getting more snow tomorrow
Questions: none currently
GTKY: What’s a movie you can watch over and over again? There’s a couple I never get tired of. Legally Blonde, My Cousin Vinny, A League of Their Own are a few I never get tired of
