Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o Jan 8

**This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ballgame. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Any questions?:

GTKY: What is something that makes you feel unstoppable?

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o Jan 8

  • Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): TI

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole, trigger, monitoring

How are things going?: this is the first cycle I have used a trigger and boy that was uncomfortable. Maybe because I had eggs on both sides but I was so bloated and in pain yesterday.

    Any questions?: is that normal?!?

GTKY: What is something that makes you feel unstoppable? Usually, spending time doing my makeup and hair.... it's not working today though

@ATolentino89 Yay for good timing on the trigger this go-round! I haven’t used one before but my impression is that bloating is pretty common; pain, though, sounds not great 😕 Have you told your doctor? Did they have any advice?

    Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): Benched

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): PGT-M test development

How are things going?: The end of our wait is in sight, hooray! With any luck we’ll be starting meds for an IVF cycle at the beginning of February. I am very excited to be moving forward and also newly petrified because now I have to come face to face with the reality of however my body does or doesn’t respond to treatment.

    Any questions?:

GTKY: What is something that makes you feel unstoppable? Strength training. Something about lifting heavier weights than I thought I could just makes me feel like I can do anything.

  • @aisleofviewtwo it was just like period cramps but in my back. I noticed when she was checking for folicules on the left that it felt like it was towards my back. Tylenol helped and a hot shower helped and it's way better today but I'll mention it if I have to do it again.
Also I would love to have someone teach me to lift weights. Just not bad enough to seek out a teacher 😅

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Possibly getting started on embryo adoption process

How are things going?: Good. We had our orientation for embryo adoption and H said he feels better about it after that, which is great! We also met with someone about the process of changing agencies for fostering. Normally it’s a long process, but it’ll be expedited since our agency is closing. The person we talked to wasn’t allowed to recommend other agencies, but she told us someone who could so we’ve reached out to see if there are any agencies that would be good for us to adopt with. We have to decide pretty quickly if we are going to do embryo or foster adoption, so we’ll probably just give ourselves this week to think about it. Right now I’m pretty split on it, with probably a slight lean toward embryo adoption.

    Any questions?: Nope

GTKY: What is something that makes you feel unstoppable?
Research. I usually feel like I can do anything as long as I’ve done enough research on it
  • @ATolentino89 I hope you get a chance to try weightlifting sometime! I did go with a friend who knew what she was doing the first few times, but mostly I’ve just learned about form and tweaked my routine from watching others—no professional help (yet).

@britters314 I’m so glad the orientation was so helpful for your husband! Thinking of you this week as you seek a decision as to what’s right for your family 💛
  • Diagnosis (if you've been): low Amh, some autoimmune issues and RPL

    Status (TI/ICI/IUI/IVF/FET/benched): medicated cycle!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): clomid this cycle- moving to ivf starting next cycle (which will be like next week) if it fails.

How are things going?: things are okay. We’ve had this annoying lingering cold for like six weeks. Not covid, and not bad just mild symptoms that are dragging on and on.

Any questions?: I feel like my LH has been high this whole cycle- anyone had that happen? Like positive ovulation test, then it’ll drop down to not positive but still solidly two lines, then positive test again. I’ve had LH surges three separate times this month!  Not useful for tracking O. 😂 based on temping and CM I think I’m 8dpo, but possibly 4dpo ooooor maybe tomorrow. 🥴😳 TF?

GTKY: What is something that makes you feel unstoppable?

@britters314 if you think you might end up doing both, or are open to both equally I’d start with embryo adoption. If that fails your body’s age won’t impact a foster to adopt success, but if you do the reverse it may!
@aisle@aisleofviewtwo yay for the end of being benched being in sight! Such a frustrating time.
@atole@ATolentino89 always SO much bloat with fertility meds. Ugh.

  • @charmedlifex3 Yes, we’ve talked about that aspect of it and it’s definitely factoring in to our decision. Right now we are like 99% sure we want to do embryo adoption and we are just waiting for the long weekend to end so I can reach out to the adoption agency to get started on the process.  :)
  • @charmedlifex3 I don’t track LH but I’ve definitely heard it’s possible to have multiple surges in a cycle. I do track CM and BBT and they have always been reliable for me in determining when I ovulated. I suppose time will tell—just my two cents!
