Bright Red Blood & Mild Cramps

First time pregnancy, I am 5 weeks and 2 days along and today when I used the restroom and wiped I had bright red blood on the toilet paper, it only lasted 3 wipes and got lighter with every wipe. I have since checked and no more spotting/blood when I wipe but I am now having cramping (not as bad as a period but noticeable).

I have nausea as well but have had nausea all week (thinking it is "morning" sickness).

Has anyone experienced this? I am waiting on a call back from my OBGYN but until then I am getting very nervous.

    I'm hoping your OB got back to you! 

    There are a couple different reasons a person could have bleeding without it being a m/c. A one time spotting could be implantation bleeding. I noticed it only once in four previous (full term) pregnancies and even though I'd heard about it before, it did scare me in the moment.

    Thank you for the advice! 

    Luckily they did call me later that afternoon and did say it sounded like implantation bleeding and to be on pelvic rest until my appointment this Tuesday.
