I have an almost 2 year old Great Dane. All he wants to do is lay on my tummy. I love the gentle heating pad, he also licks my stomach every time he comes inside or I get home. Just curious what other animals are acting weird.
My dog has been more snuggly/clingy. He’s not allowed on the beds but came and slept on the floor next to me when I was napping. Unprecedented, he never shows interest in coming into our bedroom, let alone hanging out and sleeping there. And he sniffed my belly once, but I can’t prove he knew anything. Maybe I had lunch crumbs on my shirt!!!
My sister's dog and I have always been close. He usually gets very excited to see me and I have to sit down on the floor so he doesn't knock me over. As soon as I came over at 6 weeks, he was so gentle with me. No jumping or pushing. He smelled me a bunch and whenever I took a nap I woke up to find him "guarding me." Super sweet!
My cats do not seem to notice...or don't care! Lol. I volunteer at a shelter though and each week a older boy cat comes and sits on my lap and purrs on my belly! My kitty not looking impressed !
Our family dog (chihuahua) is very very old now and has been with us for 10+ years. Although I’ve kept this pregnancy to myself, my younger brother once blurted out “are you pregnant???” when he noticed that our dog was following me around and staying by my side a whole lot lol. But she’s old so she comes to check up on me and goes. Years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter she would always sleep on my belly.
Before I found out I was pregnant, my dog started following me back and forth anytime I’d leave the room and insisting to sleep between my legs! And got very upset when kept away from me. That was the week I tested and it lasted about another week. Now she’s back to normal but it seems she definitely sensed the change
My female dog showed signs of maybe knowing one evening but that was it. Pretty sure my 2 male cats know. My younger rescue who isn’t a cuddler won’t leave me alone now
