Re: Pregnancy After Loss Check-In January

  • Weeks/EDD? 17 weeks tomorrow/Due June 13th

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? MMC in August 2021, which resulted in a D&C. Then another MMC in February 2022, which I took the pills for.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically, I’m feeling great. Emotionally, I’m doing pretty well. I have an anterior placenta this time around, so I still haven’t felt her yet.

Any appointment updates? I go in for a routine checkup next week. The closer I get to hearing baby’s heartbeat again the more nervous I get. I’ve been told, “The heart has stopped beating” twice before, and I really don’t want to hear it again.

    Any big milestones? Nope.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Do you guys have a Doppler? I never got one because I worry that it would give me more anxiety.

  • Weeks/EDD? 17+1 / June 14

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? Spontaneous loss at 6 weeks Aug 2021, MMC with D&C at 12 weeks Feb 2022, CP Oct 2022, Asherman’s surgery May 2023

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically starting to feel the weight of this pregnancy. Emotionally I’m up and down. I’m so happy and I feel so blessed to finally be carrying what I hope is a full term pregnancy, but I still feel those losses and the loss of this baby’s twin. Been spending some time in therapy trying to work through all the happy-sad going on.

Any appointment updates? Hoping to get my NIPT results back in the next 2 weeks and then level 2 ultrasound and MFM January 19

Any big milestones? No, but I honestly can’t believe how close we are to half way there!

Rants/Raves/Questions? It’s getting so real now. I feel the baby move most days and my belly is quite large already. I haven’t been ready to purchase anything or make any big decisions, but it’s getting to be that time where we will need to act on some of these things (new car, purchase baby items, breast pump, maternity clothes, etc). I just never thought we’d make it here again and the reality is kind of smacking me in the face now. I still feel like I did after that first ultrasound where I walked around dumbfounded going “we’re actually going to have a baby this time”…
  • @elle-0409 I have a Doppler. Never had one with previous pregnancies but I decided it was worth it for some added peace of mind this time. When I got it around 10 weeks it was sometimes hard to find the heartbeat, but now that baby is bigger it’s really easy and I find it in seconds every time. I don’t listen often or for very long, but in moments of doubt or panic it has helped a lot to be able to hear that sound and know that all is okay.

I understand not wanting to add any more anxiety if you can’t find it though. I went to my OBGYN this week and he couldn’t find it right away (turns out the Doppler he was using was broken) and it was torture waiting for him to get a new one and confirm that all was well.
  • Weeks/EDD?18wks June 12

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? MC Aug 2021 then very traumatic ectopic that resulted in emergency surgery

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Tired and sore. Lots of ligament pain

Any appointment updates? Just finished about cervix check and things are good

    Any big milestones?

    Rants/Raves/Questions 🤷‍♀️
  • I had several very early miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy while trying to conceive. We ended up doing IVF and were very lucky because it worked out on the first try with our only embryo. I’m 19 weeks now and while we are over the moon, after so much loss it feels surreal. I think we’ve become use to numbing ourselves “just in case” things don’t work out. We’d be devastated if anything happened this time around of course, but I also think it just won’t feel real until she’s born.
