How are you feeling?: tired. Every night I’ve been waking up and can’t fall back to sleep for at least an hour and last night it happened twice 😩
Rants/Raves: my son is 14.5 months old and I finally get to go back to work this week! I am a teacher and decided to take off until after Christmas because it just made sense (in Canada). This is kind of a rant and rave because although I’m excited to go to work, I feel guilty about leaving my son
Questions:
GTKY: Are you making a New Year resolution? I’d love to try to read for pleasure more! I’m hoping the late night nursing will help me out with that
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy Scan on January 19 with follow up appointment with midwives on January 26
How are you feeling?: Good, but starting to feel big and I'm not ready for that yet. Starting to feel less comfortable sleeping because of that as well, and there's been a lot of tossing and turning.
Rants/Raves:
Rave - Ending the pacifier with my daughter has been going great. Thank you so much for the advice people gave - it was mostly just about giving her a few days to get used to it! Rant - I can't believe it's 2024. It makes it feel like this baby will be here SO soon and I'm so not prepared. We have some work we need to do on the house before she comes, and my husband has been slow to reach out to our contractor. It's starting to make me anxious because our contractor is slow... I'm getting the urge to start organizing and cleaning and buying, but can't do much of that until we get my office ready for my daughter to move into and then the nursery ready for baby #2.
Questions: I posted this in the diaper bag thread, but it's slightly off topic from that, so putting it as a question here as well! I would love any recommendations people have for pumping bags. I just used a backpack from Target the first time around - it was super cute, but the zipper was really bad - and I'd love something a little more suited for pumping supplies this time around. I did some searching a few months ago before I stopped pumping and really struggled to find something that I thought was big enough to hold my work computer and nursing/pumping supplies (and ideally room for a little more). I use the Ceres Chill to transport milk, so it's also really important to me that that can fit (think water bottle size).
GTKY: Are you making a New Year resolution? I don't know that I've framed it as a new year's resolution, but I really want to stay active through this pregnancy and do a better job of prioritizing working out to help myself recover after. I really put working out on a back burner last time and when I finally did get around to it my body just felt so much better.
@littlemarshmallow Congrats on going back to work! I know the transition can be tough, but I hope it's great for everyone. I went back when my daughter was 5 months, but working was so good for me and daycare is SO good for her - she LOVES it! (Also I continue to be super jealous of maternity leave in Canada)
@kbru88 I know pregnancy headaches can be the worst for some people - I hope you are able to figure out something that helps relieve them!
How are you feeling?: I don't have a lot of energy, especially in the evenings, but overall pretty good.
Rants/Raves: Rave: I've started feeling baby kicks/movement.
Questions:
GTKY: Are you making a New Year resolution? My church is encouraging all members to follow a plan to read the Bible in a year, so I'm going to do that.
Also, Sally's Baking Addiction puts out a monthly baking challenge with a new recipe each month. I'd like to complete all of them. I attempted it a couple of years ago, but I think I only ended up doing half the recipes.
Married: May 2012 DS1: May 2016 DS2: Jan 2019 Baby #3 EDD: 6/18/24
Upcoming Appointments: next week for a check-up… Anatomy scan in early Feb.
How are you feeling?: Pregnancy-wise, pretty good. I got covid this weekend so that knocked me on my ass for a few days but I’m now on the other side I think.
Rants/Raves: Rant: Covid sucks. My son and I are the only two in the family to get it this time, so that’s a silver lining. But he and I were pretty miserable and pathetic all weekend. Rave: UW won the playoff game yesterday and is going to the national championships.
Questions: none right now
GTKY: Are you making a New Year resolution? I want to go to bed and wake up earlier. In bed by 10pm.
@saltedcaramel518 great resolutions! I've been trying to read the Bible in chronological order but have not been sticking to the daily readings considered it was last years resolution and I'm still in the old testament. 🙃
Upcoming Appointments: today and hopefully will schedule the anatomy scan soon
How are you feeling?: ok overall actually. Just starting to feel big and definitely less agile than I once was 😂
@kbru88 I also have had horrible pregnancy headaches. My dr recommended 500-1000 mg magnesium every night and it has made a world of difference. I still get headaches every so often but they are much less common and severe
Rants/Raves: kinda a rant and rave together: Now that the holidays are over and my new contract for work has been signed I am planning on telling my boss that I am pregnant. I am really nervous. I am sure she will be supportive but I really don’t know how telling my clients will go!
Questions: I have the AFP test coming up as well. Does anyone know if this is still done if I did the NIPT? They seem to do the same thing
GTKY: Are you making a New Year resolution? Nothing specific. I guess my resolution is just to actually have everything done for this baby!
@curlyandpreggo I am relating to your house stress. We also need to get some work done to our garage in order to convert my husbands office to a nursery (the room is above the garage and has like no insulation). We have some quotes but now that it’s 2024 I feel like it needs to be done so we can start buying all the things we need. It’s starting to really stress me out
Upcoming Appointments: 16 week checkup on Monday, then my anatomy scan early February.
How are you feeling?: So much better! But now I'm hungry all the time and starting to feel huge.
Rants/Raves: I guess this is a two in one, but my grandmother's funeral is this Saturday. Obviously, that's very sad (though we weren't close), but I'm excited to go out of town with my siblings to reconnect without the kids.
Questions: You all may have already discussed this, but when are you going to announce on social media if at all? I'll probably post something after the anatomy scan, which is what I did with my daughter.
GTKY: Are you making a New Year resolution? I don't have a resolution, but I do have a word of the year. This year it's "fun." After years of TW miscarriages and secondary infertility END TW I really want to embrace being a woman who has fun.

How are you feeling?: Feeling good, much more energy! And I’ve started feeling some flutters in my stomach I think. Still hard to tell, but I’m experiencing it more frequently.
Rants/Raves:
Rave- got a promotion at work so I got to start in my new role yesterday.
My dr’s appointment yesterday bumped up my EDD from June 22 now to June 18.
Questions:
GTKY: Are you making a New Year resolution?
Trying to focus on overall health and wellness. Try to prepare as much as I can for this baby while still getting as much self care as I can. And spending time with my hubby before our lives change forever.
