How are you feeling?: exhausted! Christmas was super fun, but lots to do. But now things are nice and quiet and the kids are entertained with all their new gifts.
Rants/Raves: I have so many new books I'm dying to read! Why is there so little time 😭
Questions: none
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate) A Ninja Waffle maker! We got to use it for breakfast this morning. Even worked making them gluten free! So excited for future waffle night meals!
How are you feeling?: my back has been so sore after tweaking it when playing with my son a month ago. My dr gave me a prescription for a belly band so I hope that helps!
Rants/Raves: 2 Christmases down, 2 to go… I think that’s a rant and a rave 😂
Questions:
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate) a bread maker! I’m so excited to use it
Upcoming Appointments: Doing the special NIPT this week, then regular OBGYN next week, and MFM later in January for our level 2 ultrasound
How are you feeling?: Okay. I’ve been battling the most annoying cough and I don’t feel comfortable to take anything, but it’s really not going away. My mom and MIL were on me over Christmas that I need to call the doctor today.
Rants/Raves: The Christmas craziness is over. It’s a rant and a rave.
Questions: Anyone have any tips for clearing a cough?
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate) Adults don’t exchange gifts at Christmas, so I didn’t ask for anything, but my husband got me my first set of adult legos. I can’t wait to put them together!
Rave: I felt the baby kick multiple times over the weekend! The first time I was doubtful even though it solidly felt like a kick (it honestly felt TOO much like a kick for this early), but then I definitely felt a kick the next day as well. I was with my a friend who is pregnant for the first time (but much further along) and she was shocked that I could feel them already, but that's what you get in second+ pregnancies I guess.
Rave: I started working out again last week, so feeling good about that! Hoping I can keep doing it some even though my daughter is off from daycare this week (and we are transitioning from pacis - see my rant - so naptime might be rough).
Rant: My daughter bit the top off of two of her pacifiers yesterday, so we had to suddenly stop using pacifiers because I was worried about them becoming a choking hazard. It was something we needed to stop in the next couple months anyway, but last night was NOT the night I wanted to do it (we just got home from a trip) and I planned to do it more gradually (bedtime, then nap, then car rides or something). Last night went okay (though far from great) and she's home from daycare this week, so it's not the worst time to do it, but definitely was an unexpected turn for the night and week!
Questions: If anyone has stopped using pacis, I welcome any advice! I feel like it's a rough age (16 months) because she's not old enough that I can fully explain it to her, but old enough that she solidly notices they are gone and asks for it.
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate) I don't celebrate Christmas, but I got myself a new pair of boots and a purse for Hannukah.
How are you feeling?: I've been battling nasal congestion for 6 days, and I am OVER IT. I'm feeling a little bit of relief today, so hopefully it keeps getting better.
Rants/Raves:
Rave: My kids (ages 4 and7) were so fun this year for Christmas.
Rant: THE STUFF. Our families are generous at Christmas, and we practically have an entire playroom full of new toys. Gotta do a big clean out to make room for the new stuff.
Questions:
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? New makeup brushes, a makeup brush cleaner, and cardigans (to dress the bump)

@curlyandpreggo We took my oldest's away when he was 18 months. It was maybe 3-4 rough nights, then he was fine, so maybe hang in there for a couple more nights!
He started sucking his thumb when he was 2 and is still doing it at 7, so if anyone has advice for that, I'm all ears..

Getting over a cold, so starting to feel pretty good!
Rants/Raves:
Rants- mostly just random breast pain Raves- having gender reveal lunch on Thursday! Then spending a couple nights in a fancy hotel with my husband for New Years
Questions:
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate) I asked for one of those shark snuggies (it's like a shark suit) and my husband got it for me! It's super dorky, but also super comfy!
@saltedcaramel518 thank you! I’m definitely hoping it will just be a couple of rough nights.
I wish I had advice for thumb sucking - I’m scared she will go in that direction! My father-in-law told me he sucked his thumb until quite old and didn’t stop until he broke his arm so literally couldn’t anymore 🤦🏻♀️
@curlyandpreggo I always allow two weeks adjustment for big changes. If they still are asking for a pacifier after that, maybe look into getting the ones for 16+ months. They have a stronger plastic that they ideally won't bite through. Ultimately I come up with distractions from the binky, like giving them water or a sip of milk.
@saltedcaramel518 none of my kids have been thumb suckers, but I was! I think I broke the habit at about 8. But I was personally motivated by that age. The things that helped was putting a bandaid on my thumb at night so it reminded me not to put it in my mouth. Or you could try a glove. My mom and dad also did something bitter on my thumb at night.
@maggiemadeit I always like to mix real honey and lemon if my throat is bothering me. It seems to help with coughing at least. But do get checked by a doctor. One of my earlier pregnancies I had walking pneumonia and had no idea! I just thought I had a cough.
How are you feeling?: pretty ok. I have been more tired this week but I am not sure if that is just because I am spending time with family and it can be exhausting
Rants/Raves: Rant: I am definitely in the phase where I am feeling fat but not pregnant I am getting a bit self conscious of how I look.
Rave: we decided on a crib and I found someone selling a brand new unopened box on Facebook marketplace. We got it at 1/2 price and I am super excited to have bought our first baby item!
Questions: NATM
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate): we didn’t exchange many gifts this year but my husband and I bought a new couch, which we really needed. Excited to get it!
How are you feeling?: today was rough, but in general I feel a lot better.
Rants/Raves: Rant—today I felt sick again and my house is a disaster still from Christmas; Rave—we had a really nice Christmas and DH has totally stepped up when I need rest or don’t feel well
Questions: none at the moment
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate) I got some sneakers I had been wanting. DH also got me a few other fun, unexpected gifts. We also booked a trip to Whistler in February, and were putting the kids in ski school. I obviously won’t be skiing so it’ll be a 4-5 day relaxation trip for me
FTM/STM/TTM+: I never know how to answer this?! Second pregnancy, 3rd kid!
Baby is the size of a (an):peach (by the size of my growing belly a pretty large one )
Team blue/pink/green: it will be awhile before we find out
Upcoming Appointments: next week!
How are you feeling?: good. The lack of fatigue had me worried as that was my primary symptom last time but my increasing girth has reassured me.
Rants/Raves: Had such a great few days with my little family over Christmas.
Questions: none at the moment
GTKY: what did you ask for Christmas? (If you celebrate) I didn't ask for anything this year other than quality time with family. I got it! We just ordered furniture for our house a month ago so we figured that is our gifts.

Raves- having gender reveal lunch on Thursday! Then spending a couple nights in a fancy hotel with my husband for New Years
Rave: we were very spoiled and blessed with items for our baby this Christmas.
I didn’t really have anything that I expressed a want for, but my husband surprised me with a Kate Spade Diaper bag!
