Baby is the size of a (an): lettuce.. definitely feels bigger than that though

    Team blue/pink/green:B

Upcoming Appointments: Jan 5 Gestation test

How are you feeling?: anxious to talk to the dr. I’m realizing there are certain questions she didn’t bring up and that I forgot to ask. Mostly just want to see if he’s head down yet. Since my uterus is bicornuate, he has less time to flip. Hoping all the yoga I did paid off. If not I’m ok with having a C-section as well, just wanted to try and have a vbac.

Rants/Raves: Bday and Christmas went great! Literally can’t believe new year is next week

How are you feeling?: Tired 😴 It's definitely getting a lot harder to sleep/get comfortable. Plus I have this awful poison oak and wake up itchy multiple times a night 😭

Rants/Raves: See above whining. On the upside we had a really nice holiday with the big kids 😍

Baby is the size of a (an): Coconut

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: NST tomorrow. Ultrasound, doctor, labs, NST Friday

How are you feeling?: Okay overall, I started taking half a Unisom again so I could sleep through the night because the insomnia was a struggle. I also am starting to have some SPD pain and it's mild for me but it sure is unpleasant. I know some people are dealing with intense pain and have been since like mid 2nd trimester and I don't know how you all are surviving. Also, kicks to the ribs is new.

Rants/Raves: Blood pressure was high all weekend consistently, Friday through Monday afternoon. I also had headaches and pain most of those days. I was thinking okay, this is it, the preeclampsia is happening, hopefully I can make it through Christmas before the symptoms get too severe and I have to go to the hospital. Last night and this morning my blood pressure is back to normal, 120/80, somehow. This is probably a dumb thing to rant about and I should just be grateful for more time to be living my normal life with an inside baby, but I'm just having a really hard time not knowing wtf is going on with my body. Part of me is just really ready to have the bad thing happen so I don't have to worry about when it will and we can have a plan for the next phase of hospitalization etc.

    Questions: None

Merry Christmas to those who Celebrate! Ours was nice and low key and I'm glad I got to enjoy it with my little family.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 6 Feb/34+0

Baby is the size of a (an): Tickle me Elmo! (or a larger butternut squash or cauliflower, but she's already been those)

Team blue/pink/green: Sylvie is the name on tap this week! (we have three more names to try out; one was recently dropped because we couldn't agree on how to pronounce it, haha).

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow for my 34 week check-up, then starting January 9th, weekly!

How are you feeling?: Generally pretty good. Lots of breathlessness and limb weakness---feels like the blood rushes out of my arms and legs, so my exercise has dropped dramatically (which also takes a mental toll).

Rants/Raves: Rave: Yesterday, we set up the bassinet/pack n' play in our room, to see how everything would fit (and figure out how to position the monitor, since we need to get our landlord to OK drilling some holes). It feels much more real now. She's also been very squirmy, which has been comforting.

Rant: I inherited some more cloth diapers (BumGenius) that needed elastic replacing. Boy has that been taking longer than expected!! I've just been prepping and pinning, but hopefully today is the day that I can break out the sewing machine and finish this project.

    Questions: natm

Merry Christmas 🎄 all, if you celebrate. We had a very chill Christmas, catching up virtually with family and friends.

Baby is the size of a (an): Guinea pig

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow with the ob and then meeting a chiropractor

How are you feeling?: tired. This weekend was a lot.

Rants/Raves: rant for my husband. He’s acting like the pain in his ankle is an excuse to treat the rest of us like servants and general crap. He spent Christmas Eve ordering the kids around like a drill Sargent and got loud with me me for “slamming things” in the kitchen. When I called him on his crap he was like well I’m in pain. Ok? B*tch my hands have been throbbing for months and I’m still treating everyone with respect and getting all of the everything done around here with no help so maybe check yourself.

    Questions: natm

Merry Christmas 🎄 all, if you celebrate. I hope your day is everything you hoped for 🌟— Merry Christmas! We had a pretty good day despite me nursing a migraine all day. The boys had a blast with all their new stuff and were shockingly organized in opening and stowing gifts back under the tree.
  • @alexxajams fingers crossed baby has flipped in time!

@hedgepig are steroid shots out of the question for pregnancy? I’m so sorry you are itchy. How miserable!

@dinomeetsjedi I’m sorry your body is sending such confusing signals. That would frustrate me too. I’m glad you had a good pressure reading and hope you continue to have them.

@cioccolata16 woohoo for more diapers! I’m sorry the elastic is taking forever though. I know how much effort that takes.

@kmw611 I am sorry your husband has been acting like a baby. I hope he recognizes he is being ridiculous and adjusts his behavior accordingly.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 32+4 C section scheduled for 2/12

Baby is the size of a (an): naked tailed armadillo?

    Team blue/pink/green: 💙

Upcoming Appointments: BPP/NST on Thursday. My doctor is out of town so I will see his PA this time.

How are you feeling?: Finally can see the light at the end of this congestion tunnel. The day before yesterday I threw up my breakfast because of post nasal drip 👎 I’m having a lot more pressure/jabs to the cervix.

Rants/Raves: It seems as though I am destined to have polyhydramnios again which is bumming me out. An AFI of 8-20 is considered normal 20-24 is considered elevated and 24+ is poly. Three weeks ago I was at 17, two weeks ago 20 and last week 23. It’s happening a lot sooner this time around so I’m not sure what that means for me. With my first it happened right at the end so I was induced pretty quickly because I was already 39 weeks. With my second it was a week or so earlier but I went into labor before my schedule C section. I’m not sure what the protocol is for this far from a term delivery.

    Questions:

We had a nice Christmas at home just the 4 of us and then we traveled to my husbands family today and that was pretty relaxed and nice too. The only hiccup was that my youngest son (4 years old) has a bleeding disorder and just before we left he hurt himself so we had to give him a dose of his emergency medicine. Thankfully my brother’s family lives 15 minutes from where we were. SIL is a pediatric ER nurse so she was able to start the IV for us and we got back on the road pretty quickly. Otherwise we would have had to go to the ER and it would have been a several hour delay.

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

    Upcoming Appointments:
     12/27 routine appt
12/28 trying 3hr glucose test again (I threw up when I had one sip left last week when I went in for the 3hr test after having high numbers for 1hr)

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling exhausted! I have been having a terrible time sleeping thanks to heart burn, restless legs, and air bubbles that just seem to sit in my throat until I sit up. I am constantly because if I eat too much at once I feel terrible and on the flip side the second I’m hungry I feel sick.

    Rants/Raves:
rave- Christmas was so much fun with my 2.5 year old!

Rant- I wish they wouldn’t let people into the ob office that have any strong scent- a lady who smelled like cigarettes walked past me and triggered my vomiting when I was trying to finish my drink for my 3 hr glucose test.

Rant- I’m not sure what the deal is with my MIL. I generally get along with her, but in my first pregnancy she insisted I was having a boy (we found out we were having a girl but didn’t tell anyone) she would make comments about how every family needs to have a boy as the oldest so he can help protect younger siblings- it made me feel bad because I am the oldest. This time we found out we were having a girl and shared the news with our family and friends. She hasn’t made any comments to me about having a girl this time but did seem kinda disappointed when we shared. She had gifts for the baby for Christmas and most of them were very gender neutral, a couple of them were very girly, and one of them was very boyish. I said something to my husband about how I might give the very boyish outfit to a friend who just had a little boy. He said he saw some of the clothes before they were wrapped and his mom said to him, “I bet you can tell what I was hoping the baby would be and had done some shopping before you shared it’s another girl.” She had a son, daughter, then a son and I know she loves her kids and she loves my daughter but I just don’t understand her obsession with boys.

Questions: Has anyone lost part of their mucus plug? I think I saw a small piece of mine on Christmas Day evening. I will be bringing it up with my provider when I see her tomorrow. I was kind of shocked because I didn’t see any part of my mucus plug with my first until about 10 hours before contractions started/ 19 hours before delivery

    @cioccolata16

I used cloth diapers with my first and I’m planning to use them again! Your little fluff butt will make all the time replacing elastics worth it once they are here.
  • @hedgepig I hope you get some relief soon! What a major bummer!

@dinomeetsjedi I am sorry you are feeling this way. Hoping for smooth sailing for you for the remainder of your pregnancy.

@cioccolata16 I've purchased the replacement elastic before but never actually got around to doing it!

@ceclarlinetlo oh no! I am glad it worked out that you were able to handle things with your DS relatively easily.

How are you feeling?: Finally better! I started a liquid iron supplement that tastes like rusty nails dipped in blood, but there has been a huge improvement in my energy. I feel so much better and it has only been a few days.

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: What are you doing to prepare older siblings for your LO? I had absolutely no problems with DD1 or DD2, but DS is a very different kid. Hopefully he will be his kind loving self and it will be fine. But still, curious to hear what others are doing!
  • @fabfarmmama it never hurts to ask your provider about things that concern you but I lost a good chunk of mucus plug with my first when I was 33 weeks and went on to be induced with him at 39+2.

How are you feeling?: "Everything hurts and I'm dying". But really, my QL and PSOAS on both sides have been really sucky and painful. Sleeping through the night is getting more difficult.

Rants/Raves: We finally painted the nursery this weekend! Rave for it being nearly done, Rant for how exhausted and sore I am. The waddle is extra real today. We also have both of our baby showers this month, which I'm super excited for. I feel like the next month is going to fly by!

  • @alexxajams I am also waiting for my boys to turn head down, since they will run out of room sooner than a singleton. I know there's still time, but I'll feel so much better when they've moved.

@dinomeetsjedi Sorry your BP is playing tricks on you. I can only imagine the stress of wanting to just know one way or the other what's happening 😕 My SPD pain comes and goes - I definitely recommend the MommaStrong releases/stretches to help it too.

@cioccolata16 Sylvie is so pretty 😍 Out of curiousity, what was the one that you guys disagreed on the pronunciation of?

@kmw611 Sorry YH has been a pita - I hope he gets over it soon!

@ceclarlinetlo I actually didn't look into steroid shots - I have always thought of those for really serious cases, but actually maybe that was me this time 🤦‍♀️ Sorry about the polyhydamnios - what would that mean for the remainder of your pregnancy?

@fabfarmmama Sorry about the 3 hr glucose test - I hope the next try goes better!

@farm_mama We got my 3yo a couple of dolls, and then some baby care stuff (baby carrier, feeding stuff) so she can feel involved with taking care of her babies. We have a few books that we read about being a big brother/sister, and we talk a lot about what little babies are like. I'm also having MH do more of the things that I usually do, like bedtime/getting dressed, etc, so they get used to him doing it.

  • @hedgepig honestly I am not sure. I guess depending on the severity perhaps bedrest? Idk if they ever try to remove fluid like an amniocentesis type procedure or not? I’ll have my fluid measured again this week and I definitely plan to ask. It’s extra concerning to me because I have never had gestational diabetes before and polyhydramnios is  that’s well known complication for GD. So it’s like if I do this on my own by 37/38 weeks without GD how much worse could this get with 7 weeks left to go now that I have it?

Baby is the size of a (an): two cans of black beans (a few days ago) was a fun one

    Team blue/pink/green: green

Upcoming Appointments: Friday for glucose screener and MW appt. Preemptively annoyed because they used to have you chug the drink, go to the MW appt, then go back for the blood draw. Now the lab is so backed up (like, the whole year, not just holidays) that they ask you to go in a separate time for the screener. Anyway, not excited to go there a 2nd time and sit for an hour+ for a test that’s gross already.

How are you feeling?: pretty good, though I definitely feel it at the end of the day. Abs are seriously stretching out right now.

Rants/Raves: see above for the rant. But rave is winter break. Love this time of year, and all the fun holiday things. We have guests this week, too, and it’s extra fun!
  • @ceclarlinetlo thank you for your reassurance! I was able to ask my Dr and she said not to worry unless I started having regular contractions close together or leaking fluid.
