August 2024 Moms

No symptoms - anxiety week!

Hi August Mama’s, Merry belated Christmas!

I am 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby who came to us through 3 years of fertility treatments and eventually one round of IVF. We’ve waited a long time and are SO excited and thankful!

I have been suddenly filled with anxiety these past few days as it recently dawned on me that I don’t feel as bad as I think I should. (We also shared with our families at Christmas that we are expecting - and warned them we are very early along. They have been with us right through the IVF journey so this was a MAJOR win to celebrate!)

Hopefully this doesn’t make the mama’s who are nauseous hate my guts, but I haven’t felt sick. I had very sore breasts about 2-3 weeks in (before I knew I was pregnant), which have since seriously subsided.

I am pretty much always ready for a nap, but it is not ‘exhaustion’. I have had some bloating and gas but - holidays? Hard to tell what could be a symptom and what could be nothing at all.

We have an early ultrasound on Jan 3rd at 7weeks, but it feels like it is forever away! Our fertility clinic is closed until the 2nd so there isn’t much I can do until then — I think?!

Every article online says some women don’t get as many symptoms or morning sickness and to count yourself lucky… but I would do anything to know this pregnancy is progressing still.

Are there any other mama’s who had little to no symptoms at this stage…?

Praying for sticky baby dust, nausea relief and beautiful bumps to you all!

I am 5w and 6d with no symptoms as well. This is also my first and have all the same fears as you. I keeping thinking.. shouldn’t I feel sick already?! Some articles I’ve ready have mentioned all those symptoms could start as late as 8 weeks. Maybe we’re luck or maybe it will start later for us. We will know soon enough! Congratulations on your wonderful baby news!! Wishing you an easy breezy pregnancy!

Fingers crossed for us both - maybe we are an anolmoly? 😊
  • I barely had any symptoms for a long time with my first, and she's a healthy 7yo!
  • Im 5w 6d, had sore breast a couple weeks ago.  This is my second baby but I also had no symptoms with my first. I do count as a symptom the fact that I am just a raging Bi$h all day long 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • I am on my 4th baby and I rarely have many symptoms at 6 weeks. Even now at 8.5 weeks my symptoms are not terrible. I feel yucky in the evenings and have some food aversions and fatigue, but throughout most of the day I’m doing generally ok. The lack of symptoms in my first couple
of pregnancies made me extremely anxious but now I try not to base my anxiety on how I feel since my pregnancies all turned out ok in the past. And we have confirmed a heartbeat on this one too, so again just considering myself lucky that my symptoms are not as bad as they are to many people and trying not to worry.
  • with my first i had no symptoms at all whatsoever, he’s now a healthy 5 year old boy! with my pregnancy last year i had mild symptoms, nothing crazy i barely felt them and now he’s a healthy 7 month old boy! this time around though .. i’ve felt sick all day 🤢 but even if i didn’t have symptoms i wouldn’t feel concerned, it’s also perfectly normal to not have symptoms ❤️
  • My symptoms hit right around 7 weeks so they could still be on their way!
  • I'm currently 5w 6d with our first after 2 years of fertility treatments! The only symptoms I've experienced so far are sore boobs, cramping, bloating, heartburn, and some cravings. We have to wait until Jan 15th for an 8 week ultrasound. Finding out so early has been tough, I feel like the time is just crawling by along with the anxiety. Best of luck to all of you mamas!! ❤️
  • Nausea didn’t hit me until around week 7 too, so definitely could still be on its way - but my best friend had so few symptoms she didn’t even think to test for pregnancy until she was six weeks in (she had irregular cycles anyways)! And she just gave birth a month ago to a healthy and happy baby, so it’s really so individual - you might just be lucky and avoid nausea altogether, like she did!
  • Hello,

I am 7 weeks today and I was feeling the same as you. Some morning sickness has litrally just started. Not everyone is the same and it's my first pregnancy too so I panic all the time but everyone I have spoken to has different symptoms at different times. Easier said than done but try not to stress as that is worst on the baby. I also kept reading things online which was making my anxiety worst. Best thing to do is speak to your Dr if you have an doubts. Think positive and relax.
  • I am 7 weeks today with my first pregnancy and have been wondering the same. I’ve had a few moments of “meh, I didn’t like the smell or taste of that”…. But not much more as far as food aversions or cravings.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one wondering if this was normal! Our first appointment is January 11, seems forever away!
  • Hi! We are on a very similar timeline. I am 7 weeks pregnant today. Also an ivf pregnancy. We were very lucky to fall pregnant on our first round. Also have our first scan on the third. And also, my symptoms are SO MILD. I’ve had little to no nausea and it terrifies me. I really hope you’re ok.
