I have not bought anything yet, but in my previous pregnancies I found a couple of good items from the Gap that held up well.
I have been loving the stuff I’ve seen at Seraphine but it’s soooo expensive. I like that many items are maternity/nursing so would last longer. Hoping for a sale once I’m more confident buying for this pregnancy.
I had a pair of Rune maternity leggings during my last pregnancy, and I LOVED them. I don't think they were ever in a drawer because I would wear them as soon as they were clean.
I've heard great things about Blanqui leggings, so I've been keeping my eye on some from Mercari. I've gotten rid of all of my maternity clothes and plan on buying most things secondhand.

Some of my work pants are getting a bit tight, so I placed an order for a couple of pairs of Maternity Pants from Old Navy, 2 dress pants, 1 pair of Jeans and 2 pairs of the ribbed leggings. I tried them all and very comfy with lots of room for an expanding belly! I bought them when they had a 40% off sale, however I’d imagine that this upcoming week will also have great sales with Black Friday!
I’ve been using a clothing rental service for the last year and they have a decent maternity selection, with lots of nice brands like Seraphine and Hatch. Since this is definitely our last baby, and I got rid of all my prior pregnancy clothing, renting most of my wardrobe is my plan. I’ll probably invest in a few staples like black leggings and a few tunics and rent the rest.
@jenEP What service are you using? I just tried a Stitch Fix box but it wasn't very maternity-specific (even though I told them I was pregnant).
There are SO MANY good black friday sales already on maternity wear/brands. I'm hesitant to buy anything just yet, but my rapidly expanding waistline isn't going to fit into my regular clothing much longer, and I know I will be annoyed if I pass on 50% off this week and end up buying at full price in a month...
@maggiemadeit I use Armoire. I’ve also heard good things about Nuuly. The plan I have gets me 7 items per month and can purchase stuff at a discount if I like it. It’s been perfect for vacations and special occasions. I think I have a referral code that gets you a free month if you’re interested in trying it out.
They are way too expensive, but the Lululemon Align leggings can't be beat. I like the Beyond Yoga leggings (also way too expensive) too, but they tend to fall down until my bump is big enough vs. the Align work from when I start getting bigger all the way through (and I live in leggings so I'm willing to invest in good ones).
In general, I prefer to try to get bump friendly items rather than true pregnancy clothes - but have some things I really like from my last pregnancy from PinkBlush and Seraphine.
One tip I would give is think about what might work for pregnancy and nursing - my favorite dress from Seraphine was both pregnancy and nursing friendly and was therefore one of my favorite items because its been so useful in both phases.
@jenEP@maggiemadeit I use Nuuly and really like it. I was using it postpartum because my body has been changing/I needed nursing friendly clothes and have now started using it for bump friendly things and I love it.
Not sure yet but I wouldn’t recommend Seraphine. Most of the stuff I ordered that was labeled as “maternity” is definitely not. They’re my size at only 8 weeks 4 days and little to no room to grow. Not sure how they can call these maternity clothes!
Question for everyone about maternity bras. When looking at sizes do they refer to your pre-pregnancy size or what you are now? Do I need to get remeasured because I have no idea what my new size would be.
@sbaby2023, should be your pre-pregnancy size for most or all maternity clothing. I think they are all designed to go off of your normal size knowing that now you will be needing to adjust for the entirety of pregnancy and post partum. If it's maternity/nursing it's designed to stretch and should have a lot of room on the hooks and straps to adjust. Double check the sizing charts wherever you decide to buy.
Hi ladies! It might be helpful to think that we'll be the size we're now for a few weeks postpartum, so buying a few things to fit well at this stage can be useful.
I am a FTM but I recently purchased a couple of nursing bras from the “Mama by Aerie” line (Aerie/American Eagle), I find them super comfy to wear. Not sure how it will be with pumping yet, but will definitely work well for breastfeeding.
I would normally say that maternity underwear is not necessary, but my mom gave me a few pairs of these for Christmas, and I LOVE them. I'm doing laundry more frequently so I can wear them. So comfortable.
Madewell has nice maternity clothes! I found some good sales too. Good quality maternity jeans! I have been missing my jeans. I’ve been mostly in old navy tights, which are fine but awfully thin this time of year. 🥶
The Gap is having a big sale too. Just got a few new things for pretty cheap, including a few spring dresses that I can’t wait to wear. I still have a few gap maternity items that are now on their 3rd pregnancy so they stand up well too!
