Upcoming Appointments: OBGYN and MFM appts in January
How are you feeling?: Pretty good! Definitely hitting that second trimester sweet spot and enjoying it while it lasts.
Rants/Raves: I am huge! This third baby bump is really popping this week and after all that hiding I feel so conspicuous, like everyone I see can obviously tell now.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? People without manners! People used to make fun of me because I drilled manners into my kids, even before they could really understand what it meant. But now no one is making fun of my 7 and 4 year old who ALWAYS say please and thank you!
How are you feeling?: honestly not great. Back pain, heart burn, peeing constantly, constipation, light headed… it feels like I’m having third trimester symptoms at only 16 weeks 😭
Rants/Raves: rave: felt baby kick for the first time last night ❤️❤️ Rant: I’d love to stop waking up at 3am every night!
Questions:
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Waiting for people! If you tell me you are coming over at 2pm and don’t show up until 3pm I’m not happy. A text is always nice! Also if you say you are coming over “sometime in the afternoon” the least you could do is let me know when you have left your house so I have an idea of when you’ll get here.
@maggiemadeit I agree with teaching manners young! Plus how cute is a little two year old saying “tank tu”
Baby is the size of a (an):Orange (also in my 80's and 90's nostalgia one a Cootie Catcher/Paper Fortune Teller, which made me laugh)
Team blue/pink/green: Pink!
Upcoming Appointments: December 29
How are you feeling?: Much better. Unfortunately I had COVID last week and I really do think it hits you harder when pregnant (I had it last time I was pregnant too). So glad to be almost better from that and past the first trimester exhaustion/nausea
Rants/Raves: Rave - We are going to NYC this weekend. I'm so excited to see it at Christmas time! Rant - Because I had COVID my daughter was home from daycare on Friday and we couldn't really leave the house this weekend (or I couldn't - my husband took her out at some point) and my house is just a disaster now. There's an Instagram reel that is like "You can absolutely have a clean house if you just clean 24/7 and do nothing else but cleaning" and man am I feeling that right now.
Questions: None right now
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? When someone starts to tell me something and then says "Nevermind" (or something similar) - I'm too curious for my own good and it drives me insane. I just can't NOT know.
@maggiemadeit I'm with you on feeling huge! I told a coworker I was pregnant last week and she was like "I thought you were" (because of my bump) - definitely past the hiding it phase!
@littlemarshmallow yay for feeling baby kick! I'm so ready for that - with the first trimester crumminess gone, I'm needing reassurance that this baby is doing well!
@kbru88 Really hoping you start feeling better soon!
Baby is the size of a (an): Plum, 2.1 inched, as tall as a Rubik's cube
Team blue/pink/green: Team Blue for the third time! Officially a boymom. We got our NIPT results back in 4 days: blood draw Thursday, got the message Monday morning and waited to open it until we were all home to find out together.
Upcoming Appointments: 16 wk appt 1/16
How are you feeling?: Wonderful. I have my energy back, I have zero nausea.
Rant: nothing sounds good to eat except deep fried foods and sweets. My appetite is all but gone. I wish I had worked a little harder to get back to normal after baby 2, because I'm not enjoying my bump being hidden behind my "fluff". I'm for sure looking 20w already, but it's not just that firm baby bump. It's a lil squishy like I just had the second baby or something. I made the bed, now I lay in it. Rave: I am so excited to meet this little man! are we at 39w yet?
Questions: not this week
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? When people speak down to me or tell me what to do. I hate my inclination to only do something until told to do it. It is so humbling to work through the resistance.
@littlemarshmallow congrats on the kick! It is so thrilling to feel the connection in the beginning!
@maple1422 Congratulations on boy #3! Being talked down to is SO ANNOYING. I feel like it happens a lot to women, in all sorts of different contexts, and I always want to scream “I have a vagina AND a brain!”
Upcoming Appointments: 1/2/24 for checkup and 1/17/24 for anatomy scan!
How are you feeling?: getting over a uti so starting to do better, still having some nausea in the mornings
Rants/Raves: I actually have a small bump now! It probably just looks like I ate a really big meal to others, but I have somewhat narrow hips so I think I'm just starting to show a little early. The good news is that I haven't gained too much weight still, I was a little worried for a minute
Questions: none right now!
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? I have misophonia, so loud chewing and certain noises send me into a blind rage, which has been worse lately, lol
How are you feeling?: overall pretty good. Still get bouts of tiredness, and I get nauseous after dinner every night, but I'm feeling much better than a few weeks ago.
Rants/Raves: My NIPT results are in, and baby is low risk for everything.
Questions: I don't want to know the gender, so my doctor's office emailed me to say my results showed low risk. If I login to the Natera website to see the results, will it show the gender? I just want to look at the test, but I don't want to spoil the surprise.
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Being scared by loud noises, like balloons popping
Married: May 2012 DS1: May 2016 DS2: Jan 2019 Baby #3 EDD: 6/18/24
@saltedcaramel518 I didn't do mine through Natera, but my results definitely show the gender, so I wouldn't risk it Maybe your doctor can send you a copy with the gender cut off?
How are you feeling?: leaps and bounds better. Although I do think I’m starting to see a little bump (previously I think it was just bloating but this one doesn’t seem to be going away). It’s super weird to look down and see
Rants/Raves: I am so ready for the holiday and to have a break from work! I am also really excited because my Dr is starting to wean me off medicine now that I am done with the first trimester. Hoping to be off almost all of it in the next few weeks!
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Mine is also waiting for people like @littlemarshmallow. It drives me absolutely crazy when people are late and don’t say anything
I already checked in this week, but seeing as I forgot to make a December randoms thread and December is already almost over, I’m parking this random here…
I have cried 3 times today. Once because I was listening to country music in my car, once talking to my husband about his work Xmas party, and finally once over a plate of the best tacos I’ve ever had 😂
I guess I’ve reached the overly emotional part of the pregnancy program 😂😂😂
I have already starting peeing a little when I sneeze 🫣 and I am also emotional… I snapped at my husband the other day for no reason 😂 right there with you @maggiemadeit !
Upcoming Appointments: JAN 6–first w midwife for home birth !
How are you feeling?: extremely exhausted and sometimes incompetent, and overwhelmed with all the holiday chaos
Rants/Raves: feeling grateful this time of year, I’m working hard to convert that fear of the unknown of having 4 into gratitude.
Questions: I got my genetic testing results back and tested negative for all 274 disorders which I’m so incredibly grateful for— does this mean my husband still needs to submit his? I know the answer is he SHOULD of course and we will but wondering if anyone’s been down this road before and knows something I don’t. I know in most cases both mom and dad need to be positive to pass something right?
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? People that chew loud and inconsiderately. And I notice it more when I’m stuck at the table across from them for the holidays. 🤢
@jevd42 I think it only tests for things that would be recessive (that he would be the carrier for - I believe it's called a carrier screening). Assuming that is correct (you should double check), he would not need to test for it because your child would only have one of the genetic disorders if BOTH of you have it. My husband and I each tested positive for a few things (but different things) and the doctors only cared that he was not positive for the things I was positive for. I hope that makes sense and helps!

@saltedcaramel518
mine showed the sex right at the top. @curlyandpreggo had a good suggestion to see if they can send a copy specifically without it.
